Hi, Shelli:

The anti-candidiasis diet is more difficult than the NSD, as you know elimination of sugars, even from fruits, is required in addition to starch restriction.

Zampieron, et al have described a comprehensive and natural way to eliminate the C. albicans using caprylic acid. It requires just over a month taking 2700mg of caprylic acid, garlic (about 3 wedges daily), colloidal silver (3ppM and 20-40 drops daily), and 1 gel cap oregano oil with each meal. I have not found the oregano oil except for NOW brand or Baar's over the internet; these are the proper kind--enteric-coated for best effectiveness. Stonyfield farms yoghurt can be taken in medicinal quantities without causing a flare--2oz 2X daily. If you cannot find the caprylic acid, a couple tbs daily of castor oil, and eating coconuts (as Kiwi suggests--drink the milk, also) can help very much. Eat okra, and if you can find bitter melon in an Asian market, three of these can be eaten in the course of a week and that is all you should require for now. About three weeks into this regimen, lychee fruit can be taken (also found in cans at Asian markets). Raw vegetable juices are good, but even V-8 juice can help, especially after a fast or apple diet to help rebuild the mucosa, along with the yoghurt. Tuna, chicken, salmon, tofu, fresh greens, turkey dogs, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, are the order of the day for some time and we have to limit tuna (for the mercury content) and salmon (due to various chemicals) to 3 servings total weekly and take ester-C at 2g daily when eating these fish.

The diet will be difficult, but you should be able to totally eliminate the candidiasis within a month and return to eating fruits. Even things with mold--like grapes and blue cheese should still be avoided, according to some, and especially bread and anything with yeast (not too difficult), including beer and sauerkraut.

I found some 99.999% silver wire on eBay, and Wayne Green makes his own colloidal silver, as I intend to (it is too expensive in the health food stores). www.waynegreen.com Wayne is a 'raw-foodist' and even eats liver raw, after soaking it in his colloidal silver--yeech!

When in season, the apples would be very good, but I hope that by that time you have reduced the candidiasis enough that the sugars from apples will not trigger more growth stages of this fungus; it is a delicate balance.

Some recommend an herb called wormwood, and even that horrible 'Devil's Dung' (asafoetida) herb used in Indian cooking. I have some of this, and have only used it sparingly, but not tried treating candidiasis (my spittle test is negative; perhaps after so much fasting I just got lucky).

I hope that you can find enough of the key things above to make a difference, and you have the best incentive in the world to try it for enough time and we will be here for you all the way,

Regards,
John
