Perhaps the planet has had enough of humankind and what we've done. The conspiratorial side of me tells you to read up on HAARP and make up your own mind.
Whatever the case, I feel for all those suffering from these natural disasters and screw ups by man (e.g. BP spill in the Gulf, Fukishima meltdown(s)).
