M2M, ethanol is a gov. boondoggle propped up by subsidies. If you follow the money trail back you will find that it uses more than its equivalent in fossil fuels to produce, making it a negative fuel. It is less energy dense than gasoline and more corrosive.

Yep your tax dollars at work...... amazing the subsidizes we give the energy industry yet they have record profits. There is a place to save some money on the budget and invest in other areas that actually work but much of the house in Washington is quiet on cutting those subsidizes.
We have to greatly reduce the use of oil for transportation over the next 10 -20 years. The sooner we do the better off the economy will be. But as Old Timer suggests it has to be a smart choice. They are out there but politics keep getting in the way.
