I agree with the advice to please go and have this treated immediately. I have lost count of the number of iritis/uveitis attacks I have had over the years. The doctors in the hospital eye clinic have always stressed how important it is to seek treatment as soon as the first symptoms appear. For me it can sometimes come on very slowly but can also become acute within hours (especially if I have been in a very stressful situation). I have been told never to wait until Monday if it flares at a weekend. I have been treated in the eye ward after hours or in A&E. It is a serious condition! On three occasions I have required a direct injection of steroids which, as one of you has already mentioned, wasn't a bundle of laughs, but effective. On one of those occasions I had virtually gone blind in that eye despite having already started a course of steroid drops, dilating drops and night-time ointment which is the usual combination. That was so scary. It brought home to me how much was at stake with this disease. Even if you do have steroid drops I would only use them in an emergency until I saw the opthamologist. Never self-medicate. I wish you well with this and as speedy a recovery as possible.
