Not really sure if this is a good place to put this. if it is inappropriate here please direct me! I wrote this today - hoping to create as a non scientific, easy to understand post to explain to friends and family what AS can be like and involve. I've asked for help from other ASers to get it right and add in anything I forgot. Please feel free to tell me if you think I missed anything. Normally my blog is for low starch/carb recipes but I realised it might be helpful to have a good description of the disease itself. It turns out others wanted to share it - which is nice. My blog earns me no money - so I am only posting to help anyone raise awareness. So please feel free to share if you think it's any help. Many Thanks for reading. smile http://cigarettesandmeltedchocolate.word...e-horses-mouth/

Love it! I've shared it on the Facebook page:

"A S and Me - Ankylosing Spondylitis" (www.facebook.com/AsAndMe)

It captures things we don't always think of. I found out this week I have a Thyroid disease as well (waiting on a biopsy to rule out cancer eek ). I never considered thyroid issues to possibly be associated with AS but I guess apparently they may be.

Nicely put together.

Thank you so much! I absolutely love this definition. It is the best I have seen. I also experience time of skin sensitivity but I am not sure it is the AS or something else.

There were some great pieces of information in that post, but I felt it was a bit heavy on the doom and gloom. I don't want to minimize the suffering that anyone with a severe case of AS goes though - but I really don't want to add to it.

Red,

That is about the best explanation that I have read. I think you hit on all of the significant issues involved with this terrible disease.

I have thyroid problems which is probably related.

Is it okay to e-mail your definition to my family members?

Thank you for taking the time to post this.
