Scotty,

I was married to a wonderful lady in 1975, I was diagnosed in 1978, we were divorced in 1988, I was a fool.

What you are looking at now may be the best thing for you but will it look the same down the road? Do you look inside yourself and see a person who is in love or are you REALLY finished with the relationship. If I had it to do again, I would do ANYTHING to make things better for HER so she wouldn't feel she had to carry the entire load. I don't know your situation but it sounds a lot like mine. We allowed ourselves to think we didn't love each other any more but the fact was, we did but did NOTHING to save our marriage. Not a day goes by that I don't wake up with regrets. Fight scratch, pin her down but, for God's sake don't quit without being sure BOTH of you want out!! One last heroic effort to save it may work or may not, but at least you'll both konw that there was nothing left to discuss, no questions left unanswered, no complints not addressed.

Do it if you must but make [**BLEEP**] sure before you do so you won't end up hating yourself down the road. Been there and it's a lonely road even if you do pick up a hitchiker or two.

Pete

well spoken Pete. Scotty, if there is a 12 step program for A.S., I sure do owe a lot of apologies to several of my "ex-boyfriends". Looking back, the pain from A.S. has cost me some precious relationships. I perhaps have chosen never to marry for fear of continuing hurting those I love most. When I am in pain, I lash out at those closest to me, never realizing that they just simply can't nor could ever understand the pain, frustration, and inabilities that we ASers go through on a daily basis. Hang in there, and don't let her go unless you are 101% sure that it can't work. AS alone, IS Lonely Warmest, Teresa
