Steve, I feel for your Jamie, I have a Jaymi also but although she is older and has a little 6 yr. old girl herself, you never get over the worry or wanting to do anything you can for them.

I have had the unexplained rashes myself over the yrs., and can't explain the mechanism, but I swear eating raisins helps the itch and I get over it faster. If she likes them it would be something worth trying. I am just getting over an episode right now, and I think this one might have been shingles, but when I thought of the raisins and started eating a couple handfuls a day I started improving.
Hope you get her some relief.

THANK YOU. I greatly appreciare all the input. As soon as I read JROC reply I realized I should be getting probiotics into Jamie and not thinking antibiotics.

Also has already removed all corn gluten and dairy from her intake. Even has my sister in law remove all rubber bands from Jamie's braces. Marginal improvement but daily bellyaches. One very tough little girl

Thanks

Hello Steve,

Hopefully things improve for Jamie... not fun having kid not feeling well.

I would guess Bruno gave you the antibiotics idea... he is almost "anti" everything (establishment, civility, compromise) ... but he was probably worried about Jamie as well and wanted to help.

Best to your family,

Tim

So you understand. I never come up with wrongminded ideas, but Bruno does. As you say he is anti everything, even anti-auntie which creates problems with Mrs. Bruno.

Thanks for the laugh Tim. I needed a smile,

I hope you and your family are thriving.

Hi Steve...you may want to check this out.....my little guy had this and it took a few docs to diagnose it...luckily my wife works at a large childrens hospital on the clinical side and is a pushy jersey girl smile....she made the head of the dept see him.....i dont know if this fits exactly what your daughter has going on but it sounds familiar....my little guy got a few lotions and we were told since its viral he had to ride it out...but at least having a diagnosis made us feel a bit better...here is a link to some web info..hope your little one is better soon

Hi Steve, As a kid I had lots of unexplained rashes. Never got a doc to tell me what it was. I would take a cool(room temp) bath with a little baking soda in it to relieve the itching. Won't do anything for the tummy trouble but hopefully relieve her itching. Tell her we all have her in our prayers.

I have little ones and yes kids get rashes but this is something beyond that.

Your typical doctor will just try to suppress the reaction without looking for the root cause.

Food is usually the culprit or a least a variable you can work with.

I would definatly not do antibiotics. You can deveolop antibiotic resistance germs from indiscriminatly taking them.

I would guess you would get major resistance with giving a kid all vegies/fruits. Not very practical.

But you can use a form of an elimination diet and surely get your child food allergy tested. Gluten is often the culprit but you might think of removing all grains. what does the child's stools look like? Are they loose? Do they contain mucous? If they are perfectly formed it's unlikely you have a food digestion problem.

good luck. A rash a times can be a sign of something else wrong in the body. It's a little clue the body leaves us.

I never heard of allergic reactions causing a fever. Does she have a sore throat or joint pain? Did the doctor do a blood test?
