Sorry Amy, I hope the Humira works well for you. Enbrel was working wonders for me, then the MS showed up, and that slammed all the anti-TNF's for me. They put me on Avonex for the MS. It is a once a week shot. After the shot I am sick for about 12 hours. First I get the chills then a fever. The bad part is I don't even know if it is working. The doctor said the MS wasn't causing me problems, but was still active. If we didn't knock down the inflammation in my brain it would bite me later.

Good luck on Humira, hope it works well.

Hi Amy,

I'm sorry things didn't work out for you on the Remicade. I hope Humira is better suited for you. I was just about to post a message saying that I was going for my first Remicade infusion this afternoon and was feeling a little nervous about any reaction I may have. I was originally on Humira which didn't give me the results we were hoping for and most recently Enbrel. Unfortunately I developed a serious infection from the Enbrel so together with my rheummies we decided it was time to consider Remicade. I hope everything works out but I've got to be honest, I'm a little nervous about it. Hopefully I'll have the same nurse you speak so highly about(I say that because Kat and I have the same rheummie so I assume from your original post that you do as well).

Anyway, I'm so glad that you remain upbeat about it and you're right "there's no point in getting crusty about things you can't control!" (I love that!!!)

Good luck and take care.

Sera.

You'd better believe I want to join you!! Let me know when you and our nurse get something set up. Especially since you and I never did manage to meet up when you were in town for infusions. argh.

I am so sorry to hear this Amy.:hgs But I know that it's the best decision right now. He wouldn't be trying you on the Humira if he didn't feel it could be of help, right?

I hope you're feeling better soon, sweetie.

Warm hugs,

Kat

aloha amy

so sorry to hear this news...not all miracles last forever.
that left over wine at the wedding turned to vinegar
and even lazarus died someday...they never said be became immortal.

i hope you do better with the humira...both humira and enbrel are cloned
human proteins so there are fewer allergic and accomodation reactions to them.

all my best...good luck
enjoy your vacation

Sounds good, I sent her an email already and I will arrange something and get back to you.

He seemed optimistic, like I said he was waiting for me to cry I think. But what am I supposed to do? Nothing. I am disapointed cause it worked for me, but we can always go back to that if nothing else works, just with more drugs so I don't have the reaction.

That is life.....c'est la vie!

Talk soon,

Amy:)

Oh, how I identify with you. I kept hanging in through the reactions and got weaker and weaker and finally he/and I said "enough". I had too many times of trouble breathing and being sick.

I then started the Humira and had an even worse reaction so no more fancy drugs for me. I had bad reactions to MTX, to Placquinil,to everything I have taken. I can't even remember everything I have tried so now it is Pred and Pain pills.

I hope the Humira works for you. I have a dear friend who is just a different person on the Humira.

Blessings.
