Oh no,
It is difficult to see the screen clearly after reading the news about Devon. I was so hoping that he would have beaten the cancer and be given a chance to grow up and enjoy life as we all do. In surviving this far, I must admit to having a feeling of guilt for I have had the chance to live a full and happy life and Devon and so many others we all know of, didn't.

I will be contributing to the Canadian Cancer Society to help in this battle and many thanks to Pam for making us aware and reminding us of the dear friends we have lost over the past few years.

And Jeanna, I am so sorry about Devon. That was heart wrenching news and I can sense the loss that you and your family are feeling.

Love to you both,

George

Lori,

I am so sorry about your Dad's girlfriend. I would be honored to make a luminary for her as well.
I hope that one day we will never be able to add another name to the list of those having had to deal with cancer. But until then, I am glad we honor all those who have fought and are continuing to fight.
And thank you so very much for your support. It is so appreciated.

Lots of love,
Pam

George,

Just wanted to send a cyber hug to you. I fully understand those feelings of guilt when hearing of Devon. I was so angry when he passed away. And so helpless. I never got the honor of meeting him, but he will be in my heart forever. I will walk for him, for you, for me, and for all of those who have been affected by this cruel disease.

Love and hugs,
Pam

Hi Mamadolphin,

I think it is great that you are doing that Last year I participated in a breast cancer run/jog/walk for a cure fundraising event and seeing all of the support was just heart-warming and wonderful to see. I will definitely help out again this year.

Dear Jeanna,

I am sorry to hear about your loss Indeed, cancer is indiscriminate and does touch many people’s lives. I will do what I can.

Thoughts and prayers to all.

Don't know how I missed this. Sorry to read of your loss.

When I refer to my wife as the lovely Diane perhaps the thing that I marvel at most is the fact that she is a radiation therapist. SHe has "burnt out" of that field for the moment. As an unrelated onlooker it was too much day in and day out to watch folks suffer.

I can't imagine the loss of a 5 year old. I know religion isn't spoke of here ofter, but I do believe in God. Cancer ( and perhaps the dinosaur) make me lose faith, even if only momentarily, and be angry at this God I no longer believe in for the moment. Sometimes folks, (well fools like me) like to dwell in that anger. I'm glad for people like Pam and you who share their stories no matter how painful.

Dino,

Thankyou for your reply. And thank you even more for participating in that run/jog/walk for a cure event. My boys and I will be walking this Sunday (4/30) in the Race for the Cure. So much of the money raised in that, and in Relay for Life goes to fund cancer research and studies. If it weren't for all the research that has been done so far, my prognosis wouldn't have looked as good as it is today. When the latest studies on the drug Herceptin came out last year I was due to finish my chemo therapy a week later. At that point I had a 40% chance of surviving 3 years. Because of the results of that study, I have been getting Herceptin by IV every 3 weeks for the last year. Now I have an 80% chance of surviving 3 years. I like those odds so much better I am now a one and a half year survivor.

So thank you again for taking the time to participate. It means so very much.

Take care,
Pam
