If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Welcome, Many will respond to your questions, I only have joint pain and my headaches are allergies, I'm pretty sure. Any joint pain is AS related but not always AS. Makes us vulnerable for much pain in periferal joints but the spine is what is fusing. Your chest pain could be fusion or inflammation in the chest area of the spine. Many have that. Many also have bowel problems. You are probably pretty normal for this dreaded disease, but you will have others to confirm that. Welcome to our family, it's very supportive and more than a little addictive linda

Hi there Marcus, My husband has AS so I wouldn't like to comment on your symptoms, but I do know there are many many people "in the know" here, who will be along to answer your questions - the forum may be a touch quiet on a weekend, but by next week I'm sure you'll have many answers! Nice to meet you and so glad you found us.... Take care Jackie Fairies are invisible and inaudible like angels, but their magic sparkles in nature.

Marcus, sorry to hear your having a hard time right now. When was your last check up? What kind of meds are you on? The headaches could be from meds I get killer headaches from one of my meds but doc gave me darvocet to counter that. Could also be pinchedd nerves from detereation or bone spurs? Stomache pain could be due to meds too, alot of the meds we take can give you bad ulsers so should have a doc check that one out. Chest pains used to shake my nervs. My chest pain was, and still have it some times, due to AS in the rib cage area. Sometimes feels like someone has reached in and grabed a rib to turn in the most painful ways. Sometimes it just hurts at the breast bone as if my ribs broke loose from the breast bone. Maybe getting a good doctor to sit down with you and talk would help. I dont know if youve seen some of my posts, I preach about talking with you doctor a lot. Good communication I think is what has saved my mind at times. You may also notice alot of AS people worry about sounding like hypocondriacks (sorry I cant speel to wheel ;o)LOL). AS is different in each of us and different meds work different for each of us. Read all you can about AS. This place has more info on iit that any other place I've found. Hot tubs can really help to relax a little and gather your thoughts when it all may feel like its comming apart. Hope to hear some mor from you about doc, drugs ect. Take care friend.
AND SO IT GOES...

Hi and welcome!
I know you will find a lot of useful info on this site. As for myself, I have all the things you mentioned, and then some. I was dx'd in 92 when I started to get iritis but I had symptoms probably for 12 to 13 years before that starting in Jr high.
You didn't say if you were on any meds but AS seems to be a partner with a lot of bowel problems and long term use of NSAIDS could cause stomach problems also. I used to take2500mg of relafen and for about 7 years and then was switched to 50mg voixx when it came out and as a result, my stomach is not a very happy camper anymore! However taking 50mg nexium seems to keep it under control.
My advice to you is: 1. Pray to find a good Rhumey 2. Use the great resources this site has 3. Find some new friends here 4. Take a hot bath 5. Haul out that positive attitude thats way back in the corner of the closet, dust it off and put it on. It may just still fit. It can be a lot easier to find your way foreward to what you can have than to look back at what you miss.
Feel free to PM me if you want to talk.
Take care,
Penny

Hi Marcus, WELCOME TO KICKAS Yes I have also had many of the symptoms you are having. And the one where you are feeling crazy is one so many of us here have had at one time or another. In my opinion, that comes alot from so many years of symptoms and either no diagnosis, or some docs who make you feel that it is all in your head for so long that when you do finally find out the cause you still are in that "well maybe it is all in my head" mode. Just know that you are NOT crazy, you are NOT alone, and keep coming back here. You will find alot of answers and alot of friends. Have a great day Pam "Just like moons and like suns, with the certainty of tides. Just like hopes springing high, Still I'll rise." Maya Angelou
