Hi all,

Some of you may have read my other thread re my experience using Humira to treat my chronic back pain, possibly due to AS. My journey over the past 4 years has been difficult due to a lack of a diagnosis. I struggle with chronic back pain, sometimes hip pain around my buttock area (this comes and goes) and most recently, i've developed plantar fasciitis. I have a lot of symptoms which are common for Ank Spond patients, however, I have not responded to Humira or Prednisone.

Over the lsat 2 weeks, I tried Prednisone (40mg/day) and had 0 results. I didn't even feel my back pain or heel pain ease up. My rheumy is now awfully skeptical that I do not have AS, but my MRI's/Bone Scans and X-ray show clear inflammation and progression of inflammation in my Sacroiliac Joints over the last few years. There is obviously a problem as I cannot sit for long periods of time and cannot bend forward, but why am I not responding to these medications? I guess what's frustrating me even more is that I have now seen 3 different rheumies and they are all not sure what the next step is.

I have tried the NSD for 7 months last year without any benefits (pain related). If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them!

Thank you,
Paul
