If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi all
I found this thread after doing a search for EBV.
I've just receieved my results from a viral test I recently had carried out via a nutritional therapist here in UK - Epstein Barr Elispot Test.
The Elispot measures cellular activity against 2x types of EBV:
1. EBV (lytic) - reference range is less than 2 - I measured +4 which I'm told shows bordeline activity
2. EBV (latent) - the Elispot Lymphocyte Transformation Test (LTT) - reference range is again less than 2 - I measured +204 which, is obviously way out of range completely
I also showed activity against HHV6.
I've been directed to address this with a substance called Humic Acid (anyone else familiar with this?) so it'll be interesting to see what effect this approach has on my AS.
I'll update accordingly in due course.
In the meantime, if anyone else has any experience of this test or anything else related, I'd really like to hear.
Regards William

William,
Fantastic work!!!
I'd read about Humic acid + Fulvic acid in Dr. Amy Meyer's writing.
Humic acid is a component in humus, the organic material in soil structure. Major big ag monocrop farms (where all grocery store food comes from in US) are very depleted. Little humus there.
I used to work on an organic farm. I see parallels btw. soil health and gut health.

Hi Josephine The viral aspect is something I hadn't considered previously and indeed, it looks like the theory is a bit slow in gathering momentum within the functional/paleo sphere. You mentioned Dr Amy Myers so you've possibly already seen the below interview she conducted with Antony Haynes at the Autoimmune Summit. Antony is one of the main individuals currently driving this. There is some very good information here: http://autoimmunesummit.com/antony-haynes/

How were you directed in taking humic acid (how much, how taken)?

Really interesting discussion. Just got a viral panel and will add my results to the list when they're in. Maybe this guy is on to something? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8FCJ_VPyns

Thaks for posting the vid miniowl. Very interesting.
Please do share your results as I'd be keen to see if a fellow AS'er has a similar profile to myself.

Hi William I got my results back and I have no active viral activity but I do have IGG (or past exposure ) to HHV6, parvo, and EBV. My blood was negative to HSV 1 and 2 however, interestingly enough I just started getting cold sores. (Sorry TMI) I've never had them in my life but my husband gets them so I'm guessing he gave them to me. The fascinating thing is that I've had 2 cold sores in the last couple weeks and for the day or 2 that they appear my AS symptoms disappear. I'm not sure what exactly to do with that information but it's very interesting.

Hi Miniowl
That is interesting.
I'm by no means up to speed on this subject, but I can remember reading somewhere that getting cold sores etc can be a sign of a 'last gasp' from a virus in the process of being killed off, so perhaps this is a good sign that some aspect of your dietary approach etc is having a positive.
This is, of course, pure speculation on my part, but it does sound feasible.
