Hi,

I am considering taking a bromelian supplement from Pure Encapsulations (500mg). I tested it with iodine and it did not come back completely negative, there was an outer ring of dark brown, but the interior of the iodine drop was clear. I contacted the company and they said that the extraction process of removing bromelain from pineapple will inherently have some starch present. Most posts on this site seem very positive regarding bromelain. Any thoughts on this subject from the community would be very much appreciated.

Pure caps is a really good brand but can't help beyond trying yourself and see if you get a reaction. I know that we can be so sensitive that supplements can be enough to cause problems but seems pretty minimal dunno how sensitive you are though. GL

I remember how proud if my self I was when I got them to sell to me as an 18 year old biology undergrad saying I was planning to go into medicine. All I had to do was fax my student id but it only lasted so long. I look back on that moment and smile.😃

Bromelain seemed to give me a few weeks relief when I tried it..
