I steamed some brussel sprouts yesterday and then placed iodine drops on them and they turned black. Has anyone had this experience? Many people on this forum appear to eat brussel sprouts, but I am hesitant to try after the iodine test.  Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks Darrel. I will probably stay away for a while due to the starch test coming back positive. At this point I am not sure if that would trigger any symptoms.

Scott,I believe all the cruciferous vegetables test positive after cooking. I am not a fan of testing ...found it easier and more effective to read labels and eat salads. (avioding dressings that are opaque) Root veggies get starchy when cooked as well.  One trick to success on NSD that works well is to eat food as raw as possible. It is cleansing for the gut too.
 You can find some great brussel sprout salad recipes online.
