If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

So three weeks ago my Rhuemy convinced me it would be a good idea to switch to Cimzia. She said it might take a while to get things worked out with the insurance company (I have very good insurance) and they would call when everything is ready. I called last week and they told me that it sometimes takes up to a month. Has anybody had this problem? I'm not sure I can wait too much longer!!

Sorry cannot help you with question.
Curious how expensive Cimzia is without insurance? Do you have that information.

Cimzia is my 5th biologic. None of my biologics have taken more than 2 weeks to approve. I have very good insurance, too. My rheumy's office keeps up with the approvals, so maybe they are just being more proactive than your rheumy? Cimzia is newer to AS than the others, so maybe that's the hang-up. They aren't approving it as fast because it is newer than the other 'tried-and-true' biologics....a theory, though it's been on the list of approved treatments for over a year. I started it at the first of this year.
Tim, the info that comes with my monthly dose says it's about $2500, for the two syringes. Don't think it is radically different than the others, though Simponi might be more per month. Phillip, while you are waiting, you can contact the Cimzia people and get set up for the copay card. It is fantastic....I've paid zero for my meds the entire time I've been on it. I'd advise you to call them rather than do the online version, though. It will go much faster and you'll get the info you need while you are on the phone with them. Good luck. Hope it's not much longer for you.
DX: Psoriatic Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Psoriasis Meds: MTX since Oct 2009, 15mg/week. Cimzia-restarted after 2 yrs away. Epidural Steroid Injections x8; Lumbar Radiofreq Ablation x2 SIJ Steroid Injection x3; Bilateral Radiofreq Ablation SIJ x9

My new Rheumy has been talking about Cimzia to me. He said they have had the best luck with it for treating AS, after my last experience with enbrel. I am hesitant to try it.

On Cimzia from May. I had to switch from Remicade because the Crohn's got worse.
Cimzia has helped somewhat, but I still have a lot of pain in my neck and upper spine.
The Crohn's is better and the chronic nausea has stopped.
