I haven't been to the doctors yet and plan too.

I am asking if anyone has constant itchy hands and feet. They are not only itchy, sometimes I come out in a red rash on my hands and feet.

Can anyone shed light on this????

Diva-
In junior high / early high school, I was tormented by itching but creams never helped. just before sweating, when still able to play ball, I would also most go crazy with itch.

yes, a few rashes, ever since. and some psoriasis (sp)

It could be from meds. I used to itch like crazy when I was on SSZ, along with gut problems from it.

AS symptoms started 1991. Official dx in 2006 with HLA-B27+, fused SIJ, bone spurs in back, extreme rib/hip pain, and other family with SpA. Started Enbrel in 2006 with good results, but stopped in 2010 due to nerve damage (MS) from it. Getting good results with no-starch diet since 2011.

I itch quite badly from codeine. Its not strictly an allergic reaction, but it does trigger a histamine response. I've also had those itchy hands, and I can't remember now what it was. Do you have any degree of raynauds? the colour/temperature changes that go along with that can leave your hands or feet feeling quite itchy. There are probably hundreds of other causes though. If it looks different, take photos of it to show your doctors when you see them next.

Itching can be a sign of liver problems - talk to your doc.

PBC, widespread enthesitis. Currently managing symptoms (without NSAIDs) through low starch diet.

I would agree with others commenting regarding reaction to something you are taking... did you recently start a medication?

Thank you for the advice......

I have not started new meds yet. I was supposed to start new meds today frown

It really is a strange thing as along with the itchy hands and feet, a blotchy rash started, so I called up for medical advice. She told me to go straight to the hospital...... Mmmmmmmm

It almost feels like I don't have time to keep going to the doctors/hospital as my life is so hectic now...... I guess I will just have to make the time.

I should also mention I am in the middle of a flare up..... Yuck!!!!!!

I have a very sensitive skin and do get itching/rashes/redness for no apparent reason. Not just on hands and feet, just about anywhere (back, thighs, ankles, arms, face, neck...)It usually doesn't last although some times i've had psoriasis/eczema type lesions on my hands mostly.
I definitely think it's related to AS, at least to my immune system overreacting to things in general.
Could be worth consulting a dermatologist and mentionning you have AS ?

Sounds uncomfortable and so many things it could be. I am glad your dr. sent you to the hospital. Please let us know what it is and how you are doing.

Blessings.
