If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

so my approved Enbrel script arrived from Medicare yesterday and I'm booked in to see the Dr on Friday to get a lesson in using the autoinjector... praying this will give me some relief 'cos I'm having a bad flare and reaching breaking point - I desperately need a good nights sleep!! Please keep your fingers crossed for me!

I peferred the regular syringe over the autoinjector. The auto was painful, but I could inject it myself without pain (slower).
AS symptoms started 1991. Official dx in 2006 with HLA-B27+, fused SIJ, bone spurs in back, extreme rib/hip pain, and other family with SpA. Started Enbrel in 2006 with good results, but stopped in 2010 due to nerve damage (MS) from it. Getting good results with no-starch diet since 2011.

I am on Enbrel and it has made a huge difference. Make sure the alcohol is dry and the Enbrel has warmed up. I even put the auto injector under my arm for a minute before I inject to make sure...clothes on of course. The little bit of pain is well worth the results. Good luck and fingers crossed for you. Let us know how it works for you.

Did not go well at all!! The Dr was running over an hour and a half late so lots of time for me to stress out - I was so determined to try and do it for myself, but since I was crying and hyperventilating, the Dr got my husband to do it. I tried to relax my leg but don't think I did very well, I found it quite painful and my thigh is achey now :-( I already don't want it next week!! I'm trying to book in with a hypnotherapist - it's time to deal with this ridiculous phobia once and for all *sigh*

I always put it in my stomach and found it not nearly as painful. I didn't pinch up the skin either. You will get used to it. Hang in there.
