If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi Possi Sorry you are in such pain. I know this time of year can be brutal for me. I use an electric blanket turned all most all the up at night. If I don't, I wake up in the middle of the night and can't get warm. I then have to take a hot bath to get warm again. It is amazing that I don't sweat or get too hot and kick the covers off in the middle of the night. I used to flare now I am in pain 24/7. It can really wear you out. A hot bath and pain pills just before bed seem to work the best for me. I know we all want to get out and live life but some days it's just better to rest. Take it easy if you can and hope you start feeling better soon.
I can not defeat you but I will not let you win

Like jeff, when things were bad, I'd take a hot bath before bed, and perhaps another bath or shower in the middle of the night when I woke. It did help a lot to get back to sleep.
And I still always take my muscle relaxant right before bed, unless I fall asleep in the recliner first.....which I often do....in which case, I take it when i wake and then drag myself to the bed for the rest of the night.
It really seems to help to sleep 1/2 the night in one position (in the recliner) and 1/2 the night in the other position (in the bed).
Often anymore I seem to fall asleep and stay asleep in the recliner.
Tonight, fell asleep around 10 pm (or earlier) and woke around 1:30 am. So up typing a bit, then will make it to the bed.
Broken sleep may not be as good for the metabolism and such overall, but if we're gonna wake anyway, may as well get up and move around, take a shower, etc......then, go back to sleep / bed.

Now I think pain is written for us., and developing complication day by day. However it is truth of life. I am controlling pain by Nimesulide and diclofenac( Salazolin and other not fit for me). One thing, meditation is really very helpful to energize us internally as well control on pain. So I think friends you can continue meditation. Let us give energy to live with the PAIN..

Thanks Gerri AND Makayla. :o)
I appreciate your well wishes. Last night was another one of those nights. It is time for another rhizotomy. I just keep putting it off.
Hope you have a good week.
Hugs. Joyce

Sorry to hear you are in REAL pain. Yes I get what you mean. It's what I like to call the Crocodile Dundee pain. You know where he says " that's not a knife, this is a knife" Same thing but change knife to pain. That's not pain, this is pain.
I hope it lets up soon and you can go back to just being in pain. Take care

This time of year, many of us have an increase in our pain. Sometimes it's jus a flare that lasts for a few days, sometimes, like me, the pain moves in with the first storm and stays till Spring. those long winter nights make the pain feel worse then any other time. When we can keep our minds busy with other things, the pain is not so bad, but in the middle of the night, the pain takes on a life of it's own. A heated mattress pad helps, as well as pain meds, spine injections, and all the ricks our doctors might have up their sleeves.
Possie, I hope you can find a few nights when the pain lets up enough to let you sleep.

Thank you. I have been thinking about you. Hope things are better for you.
I have had the "real" pain today. I know I just need to give in and get the rhizotomy done. I am just tired of procedures. That is not a good attitude. I should be thankful for the procedures but this has just been a long 6 months of one thing after another.
Sorry. Didn't mean to complain....again. :o)
Hugs. Joyce

Thanks Donna. The nights can get very long. I don't take pain meds after lunch because they wire me and keep me awake. Then there are the nights that I hurt so bad I can't sleep anyway so I have to make the decision to be awake hurting and not wired or be awake not hurting (as much) and wired. :o)
I have a hard time with the Lupus in the summers and then with the weather changes in the fall, the RA and AS decide they have been quiet long enough.
Well, never quiet completely but at times they are louder than other times.
I appreciate you.
Hugs. Joyce
