If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

There's a new massage guy at my local holistic centre, he does a type of massage called tuina that's supposed to work like chiropractic but without the forceful manipulations. I've emailed with him and he says he has a couple of patients with AS, one has advanced AS but stays mostly pain free using monthly massages and daily Lian Gong practice (looks like t'ai chi from the pics but I don't really know). What do you think. I've had regular massages monthly and found them helpful at the time but no lasting effects. This is more expensive and I'm wondering if it's worth giving it a go (our budget is pretty tight). Here's his page: http://www.ilkleyhappinesscentre.com/tuina-hara-and-lomi-lomi-massage.phpOn his website he calls it structural balance massage http://integramassage.co.uk/structural-balance-massage.html

this sounds like my FAVORITE part of my physical therapy. if it is the same I can tell you it does help me so much.
I think you should try it once, you'll know if its worth the money or not.
******* This is from his website:
Tuina Massage: effective holistic treatment for chronic pain If you are looking for an effective and holistic support for the prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal pain and postural imbalance, tuina massage may be one of the most exciting therapies you will ever discover.
Tuina is the ancient therapeutic massage of China, a sophisticated form of bodywork that together with acupuncture, herbal medicine and qigong is one of the cornerstones of Chinese Medicine.
I have integrated the traditional methods of Tuina with state of the art bodywork systems such as myofascial release, neuromuscular technique and cranial release to develop a powerful new approach known as Integrated Tissue Release.
Throughout the treatment I constantly feel for dysfunctional or restricted tissue or joints and apply sequences of special pressure, stretch or mobilisation techniques to restore proper function. The treatment is deep without being invasive and leaves the receiver feeling both invigorated and relaxed.
Integrated Tissue Release Tuina, aims for a similar level of effectiveness to osteopathy or chiropractic but without the use of forceful manipulations. It is particularly beneficial for complex chronic patterns of neck, shoulder and back pain, sciatica, repetitive strain and whiplash. ***************
Good luck to you!! -Donette

I would ask my Dr. first and go from there. Of course I am afraid of massages in general anyway. They alway's make me flare so I don't get them anymore but I am quite advanced and can't even lean on a chair for long as the inflammation start's in on me but still I would check with your Dr. first.

Thanks. It does sound lovely doesn't it! I don't have a doctor to ask, according to my doctor the solution to my ills is anti-depressants (that goes for the celiac as well as AS)! The guy has suggested I come once and see how I get on, he said that'd be enough to judge whether it's helpful, so I think I'll do that.

I realize that this is an old thread but I'm curious about this kind of massage. Did you ever try it out? It sounds amaazing. I am trying to see if there is anywhere near me that offers it, but the few places I have found are insanely expensive!
