If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Fact: 1% of cervical (as in girl parts, not neck) issues are caused by autoimmunity instead of the HPV virus. These are more dangerous and progress 4 times faster than the common HPV kind. (12 months instead of 44) Fact: I tested negative for HPV but positive for . . early cervical malignancy. This month. Both my gp and my gyno have been treating me as a high-priority patient because of this. soo . . . I ended up with the "first available" gyn surgeon. Yeah. Now I know why he's not really busy. He looked at my referral (which included almost NO med records) and told me I contracted the HPV virus in the last year and a half (since last clean pap). I told him I tested neg for it last month, and that i have the autoimmune kind. He said "No, you must be mistaken," with that little chuckle thing they get, and said "NINETY NINE percent of cervical cancer is caused by HPV, It's VERY unlikely that you don't have it." Seriously? One in 100 really isn't THAT rare. How many patients has he seen this month? Maybe 200? This is *after* he learned my list of diagnoses (which includes no less that eleven autoimmune diseases) and learned that my sister died of autoimmune-caused cancer that was discovered in a pap! Is it REALLY such a stretch of the imagination to say that I MAY have the autoimmune kind? Since it's progressed scarily fast, even through LDN, and I TESTED NEGATIVE FOR THE VIRUS LAST MONTH. I can't find a smiley whose eyebrows go up as far as mine are right now. This person performs SURGERY. Yeah. So . . . anyway . . . I learned a lot from him about the procedures, and I've pretty much decided I want to do the burning one as opposed to the freezing, but HE ain't doin' it. I'm going to find a doctor who actually, like . . . HAS A BRAIN. Or ears, or something. So I haven't scheduled the surgery yet but it'll be soon. I'll pretty much take the next available, just so's it's with someone who takes me seriously. Everyone's been dying of cancer, my sister died of THIS, and this guy was trying to convince me that my future fertility was more important than killing CANCER. I'd rather be around when Bailey's grown up than have another baby next year and DIE. He has a medical degree and a license to cut people. Seriously. I know you all know the kind of doc. But really. (and he hadn't even seen Bailey's cuteness, so it's not like he was giving me the "don't deprive the world of future adorable Bristers" thing lol) arrrrrrrrrgh Love, Bridge

so i was reading along and when i read which procedure you were choosing, my thoughts before i even read it were "but i sure hope she won't let him anywhere near her!" and you said it! good for you! you MUST have a surgeon you can trust, who trusts you. trust is such an important component in a doctor-patient relationship. like i met and talked with the surgeon regarding my gallbladder, which i get to keep for the foreseeable future, but when and if it ever needs to come out, he's my man. he was the exact opposite of patronizing and that's what you need for sure! i'm so glad you see that, though sorry you had to suffer the patronizing. i hate when someone assumes that i have a problem because of something i did and when i tell them i don't do whatever it is, they still think they know me better than i know myself. like i've been asked if i want certain tests, but when i say "no, i don't need it.", the doctors trust my decisions, i like that. again, grr! but glad you are such a strong advocate for yourself! and hoping the GP and GYN are advocates for you as well through this. you'll get through this, you're one strong young woman!

Bridget, get another doctor. I wish I could recommend one. I didn't realize the "other" malignancy was auto-immune. My sister had that, and really wanted 3 children, but stopped at 2 so she'd be here for her kids. My sister found a good one here in MN. I'm sorry your sister did not survive it. It's understandable that a doctor will initially dismiss the concern because the vast majority are HPV related. However, if you show family history, then its no longer appropriate to dismiss it.

Bridge, you go girl. This guy does not sound like he has anyone's best interests at heart except his own ego's. Man, it drives me nuts when doctors don't listen. There should be an entire semester on it in medical school!!
Warm hugs,
Kat

Glad you aren't letting him anywhere near you with any kind of surgical device!

Stick with what you know is right. He sounds like a quack. I don't think he should be trusted with sharp interments when he is near anyone.
