Hey all, my show opens next week on November 19. Just an all call for anyone in the GTA who wants to come out. I'm not in this one. I only directed it. eyes But look at it this way, since I directed it, I'm in every aspect of it, from lighting, through set, costumes, sound and acting!!

I arrived at the theatre last night to a lovely surprise. My set was almost complete!!! I was so excited I called my sweetie immediately! laugh2 There are a few finishing touches required, but here you are. The stage is what could be termed a thrust stage, as it has audience on two sides. The lady crouched at the bottom left of the first one is my awesome set and costume designer. She is amazing!

And here's the poster (in which I also had a hand, incidentally):

I'm becoming quite pleased with this one. Still a ways to go, but my cast is extremely good as a whole and there is some truly fine work on that stage!!

Love and hugs,

Kat

Kat - I broke my leg the day after the end of a production that I directed! I wouldn't allow anyone to use that phrase during any of my productions after that. laugh2

Hilarious (not really) that it happened to you as well.

Hi Kat,

Hope it all goes well and is a huge success!

You will be really surprised one of these days when Bill and I show up for one of these...can't wait!

Hugs,

Lisa

I generally discourage it, too, Wendy. laugh2

I still had a week of the run left and did it in my splint using a cane. Had to talk my understudy through the matinee the afternoon after I was hit by the car. Stoned on Tylenol 3s (pre dx so not used to meds) and in shock, with no sleep (it happened on my way home from theatre the previous night so all night in ER), sitting on a chair with my leg up in the already over-crowded dressing room. My understudy hadn't bothered to learn the role, not even the lines, because I have this reputation for not ever missing a performance. Needless to say, I finished the run. Luckily, it was a production of "A Christmas Carol", so period costume covered the splint!! laugh2

That's funny that we have this in common!

Warm hugs,

Kat

Lisa, that would be an absolute hoot!!! Of course, if I'm the director, you'll have to let me know you're coming in advance so I can be there, too. grin

Warm hugs,

Kat

Thanks, Donna.

It's funny, I've been working on this since March, which is when I started my research. Eight and a half months later, I'm at that point in the production when everything is almost where I need/want it to be, but not quite, so I can hardly sit still. My fretting was so bad after I got home from work yesterday (I have about an hour at home prior to leaving for rehearsal) that I drove my sweetie nuts with it! He begged me to leave for rehearsal a full 20 minutes before I usually do! laugh2

Warm hugs,

Kat
