I wish minocycline had worked for me. I tried it for six months following the Roadback Foundation's protocol but just got worse and worse, not better.

Wendy - i'm sorry it didn't work, and forgive me if i'm repeating myselt. I've read it can take much longer but when things are bad and damage is being done, you can't wait on something to may or may not work. I've also read that other antibiotics might be needed in conjuction if mino by itself isn't working - for instance one might have a chronic strep infection that needs to be tended to before the mino can help. Or maybe heavy metal issues. But these are things i've only read, no real experience or stories to relate.

Denise - sounds like Browstein's book might benefit you since you're already seeing someone to help with the hormones. I read it and it was too overwhelming - all the natural stuff he was prescribing along with the oral antibiotics and iv antibiotics. I think right now diet is my best bet. He says to find a doctor who can test for hormone deficets, vitamin and mineral deficets, heavy metal, allergies and bacteria antibodies so you can get customized treatment. The docs that do that usually aren't covered by insurance, soo... I mentioned to my doc that i usually flair around my period along with migraines, maybe hormones need to be checked and she said we could try birth control pills, argh. Feel free to pm if you want more info.

In a perfect world this would be easier, but then again, in a perfect world we'd all be running, skipping, jumping and doing cartwheels. mc
