Hello,

My name is Christine. i am Kevin's daughter.

I decided to join this group to help and try to understand my dads illness. I too have b27 neg blood so its also good for me to keep checks on myself although thankfully im clear so far.

For as long as i can remember my dad has suffered with pain and depression because of it. He is an amazing man/dad/Grandad, who has brought me up and stood by me through everything. Despite of this cruel disease my dad never ever complains, we his family would never know the pain and suffering he has to deal with everyday if it wasn't for the visual signs.

I find great comfort to know he has this site and great friends on here that he can relate to and have a moan if he needs too!

If i could have one wish it would be to make my dad well again in all aspects, so he could lead a happy, painfree life. O and to buy him a harley of course!! tee hee

I LOVE YOU DAD

Hi Christine and Welcome to KA!

You sound like such a lovely, caring daughter, no wonder Kevin sounds so very proud of you!

Your Dad is one of our heros around here and we've all quickly become fast friends. I am not at all surprised to read that he doesn't complain much to his family, he's a brave one... funny, friendly, helpful and an inspiration to so many folks here dealing with this rotten AS. I've had it for nearly 30 yrs now, though not as severe as your Dad, but it helps us all to have empathetic company and to know we're not 'going it' alone.

I am so glad you have your health Christine and that Kevin has such super support at home - bless you!

Hi mig

Thanks for your reply!

Seeing how dad suffers, i realise how lucky i am to be healthy. I did recently have some pain and was sent for some xrays which thankfully came back clear.

I am sorry to hear that you have suffered for so long but glad to hear your not as severe as dad! He copes so well, though inside i know he sometimes has just had enough.

This site is great! its the only way i can check on how hes doing, i know he doesnt like to worry any of us. Everyone is so nice and the support is amazing, its a shame your all so far apart.

Christine

Hi Christine
Welcome to the family. Your dad is a big part of this place, and I am sure that you will be as well. This is a great place to learn, and to give and receive all the support in the world. Don't be afraid to just jump right in.

Oh and when you get in that Harley buying mood, Ol Dad has lots of buddies on here that would love one too!!!

Its nice to have you on board.

Keep Kickin'AS

Hi Christine, we love your Dad here, he is always fun and up beat. He is also very very supportive. You are welcome, of course, but we may need to change the way we talk

Hi Christine,

Welcome to KA! We all know your dad as a member of the cheer squad, welcoming committee and the joke making party. Sadly, we won't share his chocolate with anybody though!!!

We know we can rely on him to be the first to spot any stray 5p coins on the ground too, but I think he's saving them all up to spend on his upcoming trip to Niagara Falls...

He is very proud of you and all of his grandchildren, and from what I know of him, he will have been a wonderful role model as a dad who just did what he had to do without complaint. He is a big bloke with a big heart I think...

Hey, don't tell him we said nice things about him, or else he might get a swelled head!

Hey CiaraCeasg,

Hi Christine,

Kevin is one of our great funny men. Sometimes, when I'm feeling down, all I have to do is read some of his posts and I start wondering what my problem was.

Welcome to KA. You are lucky to have Kevin as your Dad.
