If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I go in for my first injection of Enbrel tomorrow. They'll show me how to do it and then next week will be my first injection at home. I still haven't decided if I will do it or make my wife do it. :-)
Never a dull moment!

I know how you feel, I have a great family doc and they showed me how to do the injection with saline. At first I couldn't do it, but the assistant (a friend) said "sure you can" and grabbed my hand with the syringe and made me. HA. I was surprised at first but it did help. My wife (a EMT) and son were in the room and they both had a big laugh, grr. Good luck!!
p.s. Are you still in Texas? I was raised in Baytown, Tx. but now reside in western Washington. Art Stowe

My kiddos are 7, 5, and 2. They won't be with us at the doctor, so just me and my wife.
I do, in fact, still live in Texas. Keller for right now (just north of Fort Worth). We are hoping to move to Austin next year.
Thanks for posting. Have a great weekend!

Good luck - it worked for me but not permanently. Try doing it yourself, if you can, Preferably in your leg, not your tummy. Presume you're taking Methotrexate & folic acid as back-ups (sorry, I'm from the UK and I forgot to check the US equivalents). Anyway, it should make you feel a whole lot better!

I went in a few hours ago and got my first injection. It was SUPER-EASY! I was totally tense, my heart was pounding, I clicked the button, and waited for the pain to ensue....10 seconds later it clicked again to indicate that the injection was complete. Huh? I didn't feel a thing. That was awesome!
So far I feel fine. No "high", no allergic reaction, a mild soreness in my thigh, but that's it. I'm actually planning on heading to the gym this afternoon.
Easy as pie!

I had the same shock at the lack of pain. We get ourselves so worked up and its like "that was it?" They hurt a bit more when you aren't as worked up but still not bad at all. I would recommend doing a google search for Enbrel injection site reaction. The first article will give you a good description about what to expect. I did not get my first ISR until injection 4 and it was really scary cause I didn't know what to expect. Good luck!
I am not afraid...
I was born to do this.

First post on this site(on any site for that matter) but I'm wishing you the best of luck with your Enbrel injections and will be following this post very closely. I was diagnosed with AS one week before I came to thailand where I had previously planned on setting a good life for myself. I came anyways, but can't take biologics due to the infection risks out here. I have alot of time to think about my plan of attacking this nasty little problem. Was on the verge of tears when I found out about this site and the fact that there ARE people that understand what I'm going through. One thing I need to keep in mind, is that my mother recently overcame a battle with lymphoma, who coincidently shares the same HLA-B27 gene. The risk of lymphona increases in some with long term usage of biologics......AND ONLY LYMPHOMA it says! Anyone else find that a bit odd? Anybody else have lymphoma in their family history? Good luck again Native Texan and thank you beforehand to all that reply.
