First of all thank you all for your support.
I am almost 3 months into NSD. First two months took to learn NSD so would call that as LSD. But since last one month i try
to be NSD as much as possible. Was tired of eating raw broccli everyday and yester day I ate a lot of pan fried cabbage. Man.. that was a mistake. I thought that cabbage that cabbage was gut healing but my joints didnt like it. So i would like to get some expert ideas about gut healing and in general foods for NSD. I agree with Tim that almost 80% of our foods are same just the 20% of the extra foods that makes us all different.
Tell me if any of these foods are not good
1.Fresh Garlc (every morning on empty stomach).
2.Honey after breakfast(just started)
3.Is cabbage good?
4.Ginger tea , every morning (just started)
5.cook veggies or eat it raw?
6.Turmeric once in a while.
7.Probiotic( has FOS.... need to change it)
8. No dairy( just quited the yogurt too)
9.only supplement I am taking is fish iol and magnesium. Do I need more if yes which one? all of them have starch.....

10.drink cranberry, grape juices( no sugar added) is that OK?

any more ideas on Gut healing foods... ? please share

Hey, Rajj:

Congratulations on having the discipline to keep strict!

1.Fresh Garlc (every morning on empty stomach).
Yes, no problem.
2.Honey after breakfast(just started)
Yes.
3.Is cabbage good?
Not good for some people, despite the apparent low starch content, some of us react to this.
4.Ginger tea , every morning (just started)
Great
5.cook veggies or eat it raw?
Raw
6.Turmeric once in a while.
This can be too much starch.
7.Probiotic( has FOS.... need to change it)
Ok
8. No dairy( just quited the yogurt too)
Natural yoghurt is good in tiny portions (2oz or less)
9.only supplement I am taking is fish iol and magnesium. Do I need more if yes which one? all of them have starch.....
Glutamine, colostrum, vitC, vitE, niacin, lysine, and zinc, possibly querectin (if you can find this).
10.drink cranberry, grape juices( no sugar added) is that OK?
Great

Major gut healing foods, in addition to yoghurt, are lychee fruit and okra.
Monodiets, especially the apple diet, is also a good way to help heal the tract.

Keep up the good work, and be patient,
John

Hey Rajj,

Just wanted to put in my two cents: when I first started the NSD I found that honey and juice (especially grape juice) were triggers for me and had to be eliminated. Even to this day (over 2 years later) i still avoid honey as I notice, even in very small amounts, a reaction; my back doesnt like it.

I would say that if you think you are reacting to a food, whether on the 'safe' list or not, try eliminating it for a few months. Then, when you are feeling better, introduce it and see what happens.

Good luck.

Try leaving out the garlic for a few weeks. I react terribly to it. I have also read that fresh garlic is very very hard on the gut.

Hi Rajj,

I love honey, but need to have it in moderation. If I have every day I will have issues.

I loved cranberry juice.

No experience with tumeric, other items I did fine with. At times had to stop yogurt if my intestines were at issue. Otherwise I did fine with yogurt.
