I hear you Lambchoppy. I've only been married for three years or so at this point so I haven't "earned" my loving nickname yet...perhaps I can avoid it indefinitely...fingers crossed.

I think it's cute.

...and cuddly

LOL

(oh and btw, I'm totally the kind of guy who will beat a joke into the dirt. If you are made uncomfortable by it, I hope you would simply tell me to shut the %&$# UP!)

Oh for sure, don't dish it out if you can't take it.

I'm grateful to have another target out there though...you just reduced my chances of getting slapped by half!

Not to suggest that Lambchoppy would slap anyone of course.

well, i see you were clever enough not to reveal any nicknames

as for the slap, no he wouldn't, but that is only because he is the nicest guy around, but he could if he wanted to!

(oh i hope flattery will work )

I've always had a nickname at one time or another. Usually, they become nicknames because you don't like them...then your friends never let it go. The last one I had, I chose to embrace and I met tens of thousands of people over the years who only ever knew me by that nickname.

My old friends still refer to me that way. Of course they giddily put a "Sir" or an "Officer" before it now...lol

In fact, the one name I almost never went by was Chris. I felt it was too common and boring...no offence fyrfytr. There always seems to be another Chris is any group which explains the nicknames.

Okay you two! lol.

Sue, I don't mind when the girls use pet names for me...
But, when Chris said it, it just didn't sound right.

And you Sir, can have as much fun as you like, well, as long as it
don't cost me my dignity, Sir Giddily.

No, there won't be any slapping coming from my direction lol.

Hey Chris, I get what you mean about the name thing. The name James is about the same way, but I never liked to be called Jim (or derivatives) either because that is way too popular. So when are you going to let us in on the pet name?

Hey Sue, it might be worse than Lambchoppy if he still hasn't said anything yet.
(maybe that will get him to cave in)
LOL.

Well, I have to turn in early.
James

Back in the dinosaur age. My school didn't care if we showed up or not. If we got good grades and had our work turned in on time. Really never got a call home or detention or anything. I always figured if I would have shown up more I might have been a A+ student. I graduated with a C+ average. When I went to work and college, I never missed a day.
