If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I was wondering if anyone has any insight or related experience to persistent facial acne during a flare.
It doesn't seem to matter what the dermatologist gives me and the extent of my facial maintenance regime. Nothing is working.
Has anyone experienced this or read anything about a connection to acne and AS?
Thanks.

Hi Sera, when I googled 'Ankylosing Spondylitis and acne' a few things came up, but they were about an HLA-B27 negative young man and it was considered rare. Can't help you otherwise.
However, it would appear from what you say that it might be a part of your flare process. I'm wondering what your rheumatologist might say about it.
Hugs,
Kat

If you have AS and HLA-B27 postive or negative. There is a conditon called Sapho Syndrome. It maily impacts clavicle and sternum and hardly SI joints. Here is a link to a website that describe this condition. http://www.orpha.net/data/patho/GB/uk-sapho.pdfDoctors in Canada and US are not really of aware of this condition. HTH, Ali

Have you tried oregano oil? You can purchase a dropper bottle of oregano oil that is already diluted in a base of olive oil in a health food store. It is very strong taste, so I use empty capsules and fill with the oil to take orally.
You can also combine it with coconut oil, and apply it directly to your skin. Use only 1 drop oregano oil with about 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil. Rub it in your hands to combine and apply to skin.
You can also make a toner with hydrogen peroxide. Mix 50% hydrogen peroxide and 50% distilled water in a bottle. Apply this to your skin with a cotton ball. When it is dry, apply the coconut oil.

That's one of DX that I have on top of Inflamatory Spine and Microscopic colitis.
Antibotics have been my mainstay for years. I notice that when I have acne under control most of my joint issues disappears.
NSD has been a great help for me in controlling my condition with antibotics.
HTH every1.

Hugs,
Your so sweet for actually looking that up. I read the exact article. I'm HLA b-27 negative too. I wonder if there's any kind of connection.
Hugs to you!!

Hi Ali,
That is so interesting. Can you still have SAPHO syndrome if you only posess one of the symptoms?

Thanks alot for the advice. I was wondering, I have an olive complexion which can get oily, wouldn't the oregano and coconut oil cause it to get oilier?
Thanks, Sera.
