If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I have neck issues, but its not bothering me most of the times thanks to anuncpunture...
but I was told by my physical therapist last year to avoid walking up the hills ... I can't remember why, but I do notice when I walk up the hills .. my body hunches over a little ...
Were you told this too?
Sometimes at work, when they ask me to go to lunch up the hill, its a steep up hill.. and I tell them no... they say I am lazy .. grrr I say i have neck issues and was told to avoid hills whenever possible .. (going down hill is fine) ... they just pooh pooh it..
grrr i hate it when people don't understand unless they walk in my shoes...
BTW my neck is half fused and kinda hunched ... UGH!

Interesting, as my doc told me to always avoid downhill with my neck (fused C2-C3) He said walk uphill whenever possible and avoid downhill. Of course I had a good laugh when I said so when I go hiking how do I get back down the mountains? hahahah Helicopter.... Interesting, anyway,,,, Rene

Not sure what he thinks the problem is unless he is afriad with your neck being half fused you may hurt yourself trying to look up the hill in front of you or that it may cause you to trip or stumble causing you to fall.
I have balance problems and usually rely on my cane to help me up and down hills. I can't even closed my eyes in the shower or while standing anymore without falling backwards. The doctors don't know what is causing it unless it has something to do with the inner ear.

Hiya,
Check out nerve neuropathic neurogenic claudication and stenosis.....
Neurogenic claudication refers to pain in the lower extremities brought upon by walking. This is often caused by pressure upon the spinal nerves within the spinal canal, usually the result of the ligamentum flavum bulging into the nerves when standing. This type of pain must be distinguished from lower extremity pain called vascular claudication, which is due to insufficient blood supply to the legs (arterial insufficiency), and it brought upon by walking. The difference between the two is that merely standing (without walking) causes neurogenic claudication but not vascular claudication.
Several references state made worse going up hill.....

Hi, I find that, I have to exercise in the opposite movement ot I start twisting. If you go up hill, you will soon enough come down. I try to do everything, I can when I can, so that I don't lose it. I have a daughter in Lacy, WA.
I keep the New Covenant, when I fail....I am pulled back into place by HIM.

im fused in c1-c2 at my last x-ray a few years ago and my c2-c7 were fusing and im fused and fusing along my whole spine, i cant look up any more because it hurst so much it actually give me a migrain. so maybe thats why going up a hill is much more difficult than going down because going up you have to look uook up to see where you are going and going down hill is easier because your already looking down...just remeber tho a post along time ago stated that by being able to look down you can find money laying on the ground easier then anyone else ive tried it and i actually found a $5 dollar bill stuck in an ice patch in a wallyworld parking lot i went to pick it up and fell down but i got the bill and my wife and kids helped me get back up...think possitive its all we can do,,,just like the sone "lean on me" brings a whole lot more meaning to us who are fighting the monster, so lean on me or i should say lean on us and together we will get thru this.....dont worry about the healthy people that dont have a clue what we are going thru, you aint lazy you do what you can and that is enough for us...you can try to explain to them what you are dealing with and how difficult things are and some just may begin to understand what you are forced to deal with....next time they say you are lazy just tell them that their shoes need to be cleaned because they are so dirty....ive done that alot or you can tell them that they cant tie thier shoes laces right...that should shut them up, if they are wearing nylons tell them they got run in them at there ankles...maybe they wont be flippant with there remarks,,,anyway the main thing you need to remember is that you are never alone, i cant even work anymore, and i love the winter so much i cant even go outside to enjoy it because i might slip and fall down or somethin like that.....hope this helps.......oak
