I am so sorry you feel really down. Please know I am thinking of you and wishing you well.
You are a very valuable member of this site, always there to support anyone with a problem and so willing to share your wealth of knowledge.
As you can see from the replies there are many people who wish you well.

Oh, Cindy. I'm sorry it has been so hard for you to get help for your knees. It's terrible when you reach the point of being tired of fighting and can barely find the strength to go on. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. May you find the strength to go on. Karen

Cindy, you have to think about this as a dark tunnel that your in and you are soon going to see a chink of light and everything will feel so much better - you WILL see that chink of light soon and reach it, I promise.

DO NOT GIVE UP !!!
I know what you feel like - for months now I have needed to tell myself not to give up because my only pain relief is from Ambien for a couple hours at night. when I wake up the pain is blocked and I pray that today will be a better day but the pain comes back to the point that it is worse than the previous day. My family has taken to avoiding me because I am always in severe pain. My husband has given so very much for 4 years but the stress is really taken the toll on him with all the extra holiday chores. I try to get on this site whenever possible to encourage others not to give up the battle. Most of the things publicized about AS do not indicate how it can destroy a person. Please hang in there. I wish I could recommend some meds but Remicade has not been working for me since last Feb.
My son just came home from college and has attempted to cheer me up today. He is the most positive minded person I know. Several months ago he also tested positive for HLA-B27 but he will not accept the possibility that it will disable him. I am proud of that but hope that he continues to understand how I am deteriorating and how much pain I go through.
Please send me a private message when you need encouragement. I will give it my best shot because I know no one understands AS like someone who is going through the severe stage of the disease.
