If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hello everyone.. Sorry i havent posted..loooong painful weekend. Morphine really wiped me out at the ER and I see the family doc tomorrow for testing [mri/ct orders] My question is..has anyone here ever had severe sudden eye pain????? It scared the tar out of me. I was sweeping a bit ago while Art ran down a quick grocery list. All of a sudden i opened my mouth a bit...and my shoulder and neck are still extremely stiff..and i had a sharp needle pain in my eyeball. It felt like a needle pain INSIDE my eyeball..going from the bottom to the top of my eyeball. It lasted for about a minute i guess. I had to stop and it freaked me out a bit...but the pain was so sharp inside my eye. Not like anything I had before. This weekend I had a bit of it but only a second and i brushed it off. Art walked me to bed and my eye was all watery by then. It still hurts but no more needle pain. Just a sore bit throbby feeling. I am at a loss here. Any clues my wonderful friends/??? I have to get checked for the possible herniated cervical disc tomorrow. Thank you all for listening to buggy...yet again...

Oh Buggie, I am so sorry. Eye problems are so scary. I have a lot of eye pain but not exactly like you described. I have optical migraines that don't always have pain. I have had scleritis which is painful and of course the ever staying Iritis. Also I have the very severe pain that is muscle/nerve pain from my Blephrospsms. With that pain it started under my eyes and thought it was neuritis but the eyes get very painful. The dr. tells me the eyeball itself doesn't not have pain endings so it may be referred pain. I hope you go to the Optho. I know you can only do so much at a time. I will be thinking of you. Hugs. Possi

Hello there little lady...so nice to hear from you. I was moving around a bit awhile ago and the sharp pain again. Gianna checked my eye and Art and they took a snap of my eye..Art says it looks like a dilated vessel on the corner of my eye. It looks eech. My eye is throbby and sore. The light is buggin' me..no pun... So I'll keep myself comfy under the covers and tv for now.... I hate to hear of your eye issues. you take the botox for the blephrospasms right? i think i remember reading one of your posts about that. I hope you are doing okay and the Remicade is helping you out. I am having SERIOUS issues with my out of state pharmacy that is SUPPOSED to be handling my humira. I am dropping them tomorrow and getting a new one if they dont have an answer for me yet. I am tired of waiting. I'll let u know what the doc says...your pal buggy

Hi there, You poor thing. I had something simlar - like you I was pretty scared by what had happened and the next time I went to the doctor I asked him about it...the doctor said it probably was an optical migraine. I've had a few, I guess but the one I went to the doctor for I had visual disturbances. It was like having a kaleidoscope in my eyes. Please get it checked out.
Cheers, Jess

First thing, I looked to see if I had heard from you. Haven't even been to the kitchen yet! And that's a biggy. It may be as simple as a broken blood vessel which will heal but I sure will feel better when you get the official word. Certainly don't want any retina problems. Also I was thinking that when your pressure goes up in your eyes, it can be painful and that could also rupture a blood vessel. Have you had the pressure checked lately? Old Dr. Possi here. I don't know what I am doing making all these recommendations. It is just that where the eyes are concerned, it gets really serious. Yes, I get the Botox for the Belpharospasms. It really helps. I am getting ready to have to get it again. My right eye is spasming shut a lot and when it does it is so painful. Like a charlie horse of the eye. I am glad you pulled the covers up. I wouldn't be up but hubby has to go to work and I am on one of those between 8-12 for the repairman to get here so since I got up he will be here at 11:45. Sounds like it is raining again. We so don't need any more rain. There have been several children drown not realizing the strength of rushing water. There have been children drown with their parents there letting them play in the water, not knowing themselves I guess how dangerous water is. Just so sad. Take care dear friend. I will be anxiously awaiting hearing how you are doing. Love to the little buggies. Possi

Hey Buggie....if I were you with that kinda eye pain, I would get myself into the ER right now just to have it checked out. Like Possi says [Dr. Possi with all her experience!] anything with the eyes can be very serious. Let us know what happens, Love, Rita James, 12, Adrian, 10, Elisabeth, 3, my babies!

Hi Buggie,
Sorry about the eye pain. I get a lot of eye pain, but it usually hangs around instead of the sudden sharp pain. I agree with Possi, at the least I would call the optho. I hope it's nothing serious. Take care, Wanda

Knock on wood havent had it lately but I usually get sharp pains in right eye and since I have had tumors removed on right side it goes away until they grow back. But sure thats not your problem cause I have freaky things gowing on with me. How is kids doin. Goin to see my little Bella next month. She will be 4 July 21st. They are all growing up so fast. Bet yours are too. Hope all goes well at docs also. Take care Connie

Hello dear... You are so right...wait for the repairman...they show up at the last possible minute. Have another errand to run and they show up early or right on time. Go figure. Well I went to see my family doc. I am upset because WellMed is changing and will no longer accept bluecross blue shield after August 07. He's been my family doc for 13 years and he's so wonderful. We received the letters in the mail yesterday for Gianna, myself and Arthur. Anyhow...I saw the PA. Turns out the eyeball pain..argh...is nerve pain. He believes it is the inflammation causing the nerve to go haywire. Good thing is I can turn my head a bit to the left today. He is going to wait to see if it calms down. if it still is very stiff in a couple of weeks he will order the MRI asap. But he is thinking PT will help me out. Surgery is not a route he is wanting...or ME for that matter. whew. So for now I have to find a new doc...The letter recommended one or I can see my family doc but pay out of pocket. But with all my lab work and stuff I get done I dont know if I can afford it that way. Thanks for explaining everything...my left eye is still sore. That day I was in ER my pressure was a bit up for me at 136/90 I think. I always have it at 105/85 or lower. I never have it higher than that. But today my pressure was fine. Art thought the same thing too. So for now it's rest ..hahhaha...that sounded easier said than done with 3 little bugs.

Oh that nerve pain is so bad. My first pain was under my right eye and seemed to be the eye itself. First they diagnosed me with trimengal neuralgia. I wasn't sure about that but at least they knew I was serious. I had this bad pain for a long time and then that eye started spasming shut and the pain was like a charlie horse in the eye. That was when the Neuros got involved and eventually ended up with the Optho-Neuro with a diagnosis of Hemi-facial spasm being told the only thing that would really take care of it was brain surgery with putting a piece of silicone between the 5th nerve bundle and a blood vessel I knew I wasn't headed that way any time soon. The only other option was treating with the Botox to paralyze the nerves and muscles so that is what I did/am doing. It progressed to the other eye also and the diagnosis changed to Blepharospasms with both eyes involved. Then I started getting "bunny twitches" around the nose and spasming/drawing of my mouth/cheek. Thus the diagnosis changed or got an addition of Meige's Syndrome ( a dystonia) and I have had other dystonia problems. The dysphonia where my voice gets so weird is part of it as is the tremors and spasms in my arm. This is not autoimmune. It is a completely different stand on it's on problem and of course very expensive to treat but it is treatable. One time I got 40 injections before my eyes would quit spasming. I am not saying this will be the way your nerve pain story ends. I am just saying that I understand the pain and frustration of having this pain. I hope they get it figured out and treatment figured out soon. Getting sleepy again so better try again to sleep before my posts get completely crazy. Hugs. Possi
