Is anybody else using these? I didn't request them - they came with my most recent delivery. I haven't tried one yet.

My concern is the dispensing of the serum - with the typical syringes, I inject slowly in small pulses so I barely feel it, so I'm concerned I'm going to receive a quick flow upon injecting this, which I fear would hurt.

If you use these injector pens, please fill me in with your experiences and suggestions...

Thanks...

Shug is using the Humira pen to inject and he much prefers the old fashioned of injecting. However, the drug does not go in quickly in one shot, it slowly enters your body, with Humira you can see how slow it's going in as there is a view window. I'm assuming it will the same with Enbrel.

Take care

I use the Humira pen. It takes about 10 seconds to inject. So it is not fast. If you wait 15 minutes for it to reach room temperature and use an ice pack over the injection site you will not feel much.

I would assume Enbril pen would be about the same.

The pens have a display window too. I'm hoping to have a nurse over to instruct me for my next shot-I still have 2 syringes left before switching to the pens.

Thanks for sharing...

The literature states that it takes about 15 seconds to dispense-when using a syringe I think I take about 20 seconds to dispense in small pulses-hopefully it will go well. I also ice before injecting, and take it out of the fridge for about 30-45 minutes, normally, to let it warm up.

Thanks for sharing your experience...

Has anyone ever had a defective pen-one that does'nt fully inject all the contents? If so, were you successful in dispensing all the meds anyway?

I use enbrel pens and I love them, but I have to be honest, they are a little more painful but waaaaaaay quicker!! At least about 20 seconds for me... with the sypringe needle.. it takes a little longer bec of my anxiety.. so pen is much easier.
I do leave it out for 15 mins until its at room temp. and when the window is not clear anymore it's all injected!
HOpe that helps

Guess I'll find out soon enough. The syringes don't bother me at all - I can control the flow. Thanks for your vote of confidence...

I haven't used one yet, but here's a link to the website that shows what it (and the syringes) looks like...
