If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Has it really been five days without being able to eat normally? Have you been to a doctor or dentist who works with TMJ? I hope you get better soon!

my pain psychologist gave me the name of a TMJ doc who should be able to get me in in a few months. And yeah, I'm back on semi-solid food now, but I went 5 whole days without ANY solid food. Talking even hurt. I lived entirely on milkshakes, yogurt and Instant Breakfast, couldn't even eat enough pudding to fill me up because the urge to chew was so strong . . . And I've always been one of those super-thin people who have high metabolisms, y'know? My dad's name is Slim . . . we're traditionally garbage-grinders. It's been torturous!!! So glad it's better now . . . (about a 4 instead of 8ish). -Bridget

Oh Bridget, I know how painful that is. Haven't experienced it but watched my daughter iwth it. I am glad you are some better. I hate it you are having to wait so long for an appt. a 4!!!! I wasn't a 4 when I WAS 4. I have a daughter who is though at 43. She has to work to keep wait on. I never had that problem. She truly is one of those people who just eat because she has to. She eats to live and not lives to eat. She works hard at it because she gets gaunt in the face. She didn't inherit from my side of the family. Hope you are better soon. Hugs. Possi

...eating through a straw! yuck.
Don't forget about fruit smoothies though...you can pack a lot of calories and nutrition into a smoothie...
I am glad you are able to eat somewhat now.

Hi Bridget,
I'm right there with you and feel for you. My trigeminal neuralgia (at least that's what the neuro tells me) recently happened to pay me a rather painful visit. It beat me up real good. Couldn't even touch my bottom right lip for a few days without pain, let alone eat. It has been shakes for too many days now. Finally, I was able eat some semi-soft solids after about a week.
I too, like you, am a big fan of the Carnation Instant Breakfast. I also add some of the muscle-man, weightlifter high calorie protein powder so that my body doesn't completely waste away. May want to get some and throw it in your shake if you ever have similar problems again. I also find that scrambled eggs more or less slide down the back of the throat. Might not be the best for digestion, but we don't live in a perfect world. Hope this TMJ guy helps you out.
Kind Regards, Jay

Hi Bridget, You certainly have my sympathy. I really suffered with TMJ. In the early 80's I finally got a splint with has helped greatly. I have 'eaten' 2 and am now on my third. I still get some stiffness and pain in my jaw but not like before. Take care.

Hi Bridget, I'm glad you're starting to feel better. I have tmj also and when it kicks in, it's like adding insult to injury. I'm a fan of warm compresses when it's bad. Take care, Wanda

Just wanted to add my shoulder to the load. I haven't yet discovered the 'joys' of TMJ problems and truly hope I never do. I wouldn't even be able to eat Carnation instant breakfast or the protein powders. I think they're full of gluten and wheat!! Hope you're eating solids again really soon. So, what do they call your dad and you, Slim and Slimmer? Many hugs,
Kat

I LOVE carnation instant breakfast!....that stuff is so fabulously good and pretty filling too. I'm usually satisfied just having that for breakfast.
