I find that using a heating pad on the deep set old style pain (the kind that's been around awhile) helps the best in those situations.

I find that the ice packs help when I can physically see or physically feel the heat.

I wish you luck on finding what works for you Sarah!

oh, and turn that frown upside down, half of the battle is in our minds and a positive attitude can go a lot longer.

*soft gentle hugs*

Winter has finally found MD, unfortunately and I'm paying for it! I'm hoping for some help and advice from anyone who can!
When the cold weather is affecting your AS, does heating pads or ice packs help you out better?
Any help is definitely appreciated.
Thanks everyone!
Sarah

I find a hot bath is ok but to actually put a heating pad on my back is not good. Instant flare. So for me a hot epson salt bath and then and ice pack works the best. Everyone is so different you will really have to experiment and see what works for you.

Debbie,

Thanks for that idea. It's so interesting to see what works for other people. I'm up for trying pretty much anything, so I will have to try it that way!

Thanks so much
Sarah
