Has anyone heard of, or better, experienced a sort of NSAID withdrawal? I have just started Voltaren after being on Celebrex for years and when the Voltaren works, it works well, but when it wears off, I get a weird kind achy feeling over my whole body...then the Voltaren kicks in and I can skip up the stairs...
Anyone else know what I am describing?

could it be that you haven't taken voltaren long enough to build up a constant blood level in your system?
my rheumy says that even when i feel okay, i should take the nsaids daily because having a constant blood level will help control flares.

Hey Ken, so you think the achy feeling is withdrawal? Is it possible that what you're feeling is just nasty AS related pain/aches?
By the way - that's awesome news that you're starting remicade. Can't wait to hear how it works for you! Hopefully you'll be able to ditch the NSAIDs completely then!

I think this is certainly more plausible...as the levels of one drop off before the levels of the other have been built up...
So far, when I have taken it, the Voltaren is awesome for the pain.

Yeah, I think you are right...just the weird achy pains that were masked by the Celebrex...
Yeah, I really hope the Remicade allows me to - at the very least - cut way back on the NSAIDs. Thanks for all your advice the past couple of months.
