If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

My dear Tony, as much as I love my dear neighbours to the south, we're not American up in Canada, and some of our holidays are similar, but several differ. The Canadian holiday of Labour Day falls on the first weekend in September, and we do share this with the US, and although I realized you're from across the pond, I thought GB also observed this weekend-so in that-oops mea culpa-never my intention to confuse. Your question is very good... not ignorant at all-I made assumptions... oops! The short form for "diagnosed" would be Dx'd, or for "diagnose" or "diagnosis" would be Dx (for example, "my Dx is AS", or, "I've been Dx'd with AS"). Similar to short form for "prescription" as Rx, and short form for "treatment" is Tx. I work in a dental office and use these terms frequently-sorry to assume we all know these things. I know what you mean about expense-I could not even consider this without the provincial drug plan we have over here-I had to apply for it and my rheumy had to write a letter to Trillium on my behalf-so we had to jump through some hoops for sure. I'm glad you're optimistic-it's also good to be proactive, you're still a young man, very young to have had such an aggressive presentation already in your teens. I love this board too-these peeps (slang for people) are like family to me. And thanks for the well wishes-some days it seems like the foot is improving, but others, like today, where my flare seems to have pushed up a few notches, my foot was pretty sore. Such a sprain is slow to heal anyway, not considering I've got the AS attacking at the enthesis of the same tissues, complicating the healing process...
Blessings, Sigrid

lol I'm such a !!! - should have checked your user info for where you were from! Apologies for the mix up. We get 8 "bank" holiday days a year over here, labour day not being one. We do get one last week in august though, so I've got a timescale now Thanks for the quick lingo update - it seems every forum I go on has a different way of speaking...! I'm lucky when it comes to optimism - I've always been a "cup half full" kind of guy, much to the annoyance of my fiance!! Regardless of what happens to me, I've already done plenty of things, and experienced stuff literally billions of other people from other cultures may never get the chance to, so I still see myself as being very privaliged in this world. I hope your ankle improves soon tony

Hi Tony, That was quite a read, but a good one. I'm glad you found this site. Especially now you're no longer on your TNF treatment it is essential to know that there can be other ways to keep this disease under control. It is also good to hear that the TNF treatment worked so long for you also after you stopped taking it. I think that everyone who stops taking anti TNF's and is in remission should be given the option to start dieting in an attempt to hold this state as long as possible. I am myself at this moment a remicade user and have no inflammation at all prior to the next infusion. My rheumy however holds on to the normal intervals (8 Weeks)which i think to be a shame regarding all those that can't have this treatment. Especially as there are medical publications that say that these intervels can be stretched up to a half to two years in some cases. ok that's it for now. Take care, Gerard

Hey Tone,
No - I'm due next week I think - need to call to check appointment date & time!!!
Things are going really well with my own take on starch free eating - I've ramped up probiotic and efa intake, and take enzymes with every meal that contains carbs (I try to only eat them once a day at most). So far it's brought everything nicely into control, so pretty happy with that!
Hope you're well
Tony

Actually due to their side effects, there are a number of action lawsuits in process now that may pull Remicade and others off the market within few months.
This is what an attorney told me when I was inquiring about possible legal action due to side effects that I experienced from Remicade.

HI Tony
keep us posted, I am diong realy well on the HUMIRA weight training going realy well, how are you going with it . have allways found it to help with the AS often thought it may be down to taxing the imune system and giving it something ells to do.
HI ALI
what side effects are you reffering to? lot of people all over the world are having a normal life due to these meds would be a shame to turn them back in to criples due to a small number of people having side effects , my step son is allerjic to penicillin and it may be fattel if he were to take it so lets pull that of the market too .
ho I have a cousin who cant take asperin is that to go too?

I have friends in US that are on Humira\Remicade that getting the complete benefits for their conditions. They will not be able to function otherwise.
I also had a friend in Calgary who was on Remicade for Crohn’s who died because of Cancer leaving behind a 2 year and 2 month olds son. His family is one of the groups in action lawsuit and the manufacture of Remicade had offered substantial amount of money to settle but they are not willing to accept any money. They want to educate people about the side effects of these drugs and their true intention are to ensure these drugs are pulled.
I have developed induced Lupus from Remicade based on the blood work after third infusion which my doctor finally uttered it out and I am hoping it will not develop to full blown lupus and blood tests will return to normal. However, I will not qualify for filing for the action lawsuits at this time otherwise I will do it without hesitation.
Vioxx\Bextra also helped many people but there comes a time that FDA will pull the plug on TNF medications as many doctors mistakenly think that these meds are answer to all the problems and blindly orders them in North America at least.
I guess time will tell if these meds are going to be around in a year time once these action lawsuits are heard.
