If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Geez Rita, I just went back and read your post AFTER making mine, and it seems we could have been reading over each other's shoulders on several major points! I won't bother with the old "great minds" quote! *grin*

"This would be nothing personal towards anyone, and I think you are looking too much at the word "exclusion" without putting it in context. "
Sorry, I could not disagree with you more on this point. As several of us have noted, myself included, most KA members have been excluded from far too many things since they developed this d--- disease--things that include a correct diagnosis, for starters, but also include exclusions from social outings with now-former "friends," self-exclusions from precious family outings because we are hurting too much to participate (ask me how it felt to miss most of my brother's wedding), to any number of other exclusions that I am too tired to list. Rather than those reading your post reading too much into your use of the word "exclusion," perhaps you are the one not reading ENOUGH into it because you simply haven't been here long enough to know what a nasty, terrible word it is here at KA. We certainly did put that word into context, believe me.
I have to say, Bro, the more I read of your posts, the more upset I become, so perhaps I should jjust take a break from this thread.
Brad

Perfectly stated as always Pete, and far more concisely than the response I churned out (also, "as always") *LOL*

Why do I get the sense that before anyone takes any of my posts seriously, I first need to tell the whole world how my sternum is giving me more grief than my hips were yesterday, or how I wonder whether the blurry patches that have started appearing in my vision are from prolonged staring at a computer screen or something else...
Not a very trusting bunch are you? Come on guys - as I have said from the beginning, everything I have posted has been with the best of intentions. In any case I think I have gotten my message across, though perhaps not in as positive a light as I might have hoped! I will leave you all in peace with these issues now.
Perhaps the next time you hear from me will be when I attempt my first forays into the world of NSD (if you'll still have me)!
OK, I should have followed my own advice in my other post and just stopped reading your posts in this thread, because with this one, I've moved from getting upset straight into p----d off land. Excuse us for a) not all jumping up and down with glee at all the ideas you've proposed; and b) for being suspicious about your ulterior motives. As others have tried to tell you, we've been down this road before here in KA--we've had other folks come strolling in posing as members while actually just hoping to use us as research subjects, thus it really should not be surprising to you if we have lots of questions when you come barreling in here. So, instead of deciding that we're "not a real trusting bunch," why don't you just step back a bit and give us a chance to decide if you deserve to be trusted, eh? Trust is earned, not given, so how about you step off the smart-a-- posts just because we all didn't fall into lockstep behind you? Not exactly the best way to earn said trust, is it?
Now I am done, because getting mad is doing me no good nor is it doing this thread any good. Others, such as Rita and Lisa, have proven to be far more diplomatic in their responses to you than I have, and I honestly salute them for being able to keep such an even keel in light of this series of increasingly irritating research posts. Thanks god we have members like you ladies, because if we were all like me, I'm afraid we would have been empty long ago; sorry to be so cantankerous, but this thread really, really rubbed me the wrong way. Good luck organizing whatever it is you hope to organize, Bro.
Now a downright cranky Brad

Brad, thank you for calling me 'diplomatic', and pairing me with the likes of Lisa [Angelmom] that is a compliment to me! I 'll have to let my hubby know that someone thinks I'm diplomatic. However, this is a serious thread....what I am trying to do is just show Bro that there are many sides to KA, and if he truly wants to be a part of KA, all of it not just the knowledge angle, then he is probably going to have to break down and 'share' himself with us. I understand he is obviously very private, but what are we gonna do with his personal information, run outside and tell everyone! Us at KA would never do that to someone. I am giving him the benefit of the doubt that he is NOT a pharamaceutical [sp] rep just trying to 'case us here at KA' to make a killing off drugs!!! or some sort of underhanded trickery. I don't want him, if he is truly suffering with AS [diagnosed or not!] to go away from the site as there is just too much information contained in current and past posts that can or will be very important to him in his journey with AS and AS's accessories [re Pete's poll!]. Thank you for saying some of the things I wanted to say, but I didn't want to be too blunt about it! I always hate hurting people's feelings, but sometimes feelings need to be hurt in order to get a message across. Diplomatically yours, [I get a big kick out of that ], Rita

Rita and "downright cranky Brad".
Thanks both for your responses. Apologies Brad for rubbing you the wrong way.
I can see now that I proposed and presented these ideas of research in a very cold, objective manner, not realising (or acknowledging) the emotional significance of kickas for many of its members. This was a lack of insight on my behalf.
Perhaps someday technology will allow us to sit around a virtual table through the use of webcams, and talk about these things in real-time, preferably with a cold beer in hand!
Stay well
Bro

Hey, Bro, now your getting it! "I can see now that I proposed and presented these ideas of research in a very cold, objective manner, not realising (or acknowledging) the emotional significance of kickas for many of its members. This was a lack of insight on my behalf." Yes, I think that was exactly the challenge that you had. I think your ideas were good, and full of good intentions. I think that now you realize 'the emotional significance of KickAs'!!! Holly/Moonbees, is great, isn't she? she cut right to the heart of the matter. Also, re: 'lack of insight on my behalf.' Hey, don't beat yourself up! No worries! I don't think it was lack of insight, it was just lack of knowledge re how and why this site works for so many folks. I'm really glad that you read Holly's posts, and mine, and Cranky Brad's, and I look forward to hearing from you more. I am sure as you are more comfortable with KickAs and its members, you will let us know a little more about yourself [sorry, I continue to beat a dead horse! but I am hopeful]. Right now you remind me of Data from Star Trek New Generation! hehehehe Cheers, Rita
