If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

hi sorry to hear things r so bad for u. i know how u feel too! so much pain, the depression and the lack of proper sleep! i have been goin thru the lack of sleep thing, and i am not saying that what i am doin is right one little bit, but i am now doubling up the meds before bed, cus they knock me out, just to get some sleep, but my pain levels r still high enough that despite this i am not gettin the proper depth of sleep. if only u could get some sleep that would help, have u consulted ur dr re review of ur pain meds? do u take anything for depression? it could well be worth considering. if its any cnsoltation i believe that only those that have experienced this truely excruiting AS pain really understand, the people around me just dont have a clue either. i am right there with u, but i hope u r able to feel better very soon. good luck and best wishes heather

Sharon,
I know how you feel. This has happened to me. It drives my husband up the wall because I am always getting out of bed because of the pain. Sometimes I only sleep for an hour.
I hope that your mood lifts very soon.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life

Sharon You never have to appologize here. Remember, we understand everything, physical and emotional, that you go through. The emotional rollercoaster ride is normal, not easy, but normal. Just keep reminding yourself that there is light at the end of the tunnel, that it is temporary and the "lows" won't be as long. We have a tendancy to feel guilty, when depressed due to pain, because the world goes on around us and we have to take a detour that no one else understands. Pamper yourself don't beat yourself up and hopefully tomorrow will be a brighter day. The best thing about coming here is that we can complain and not be judged. The fastest road to recovering from the depression is to talk to others who truly understand and feel your pain. The isolation from the rest of the world that goes on without us sometimes is the hardest thing to take so come here and let us feel for you and hopefully healing will come. Cindy

You are not selfish. This is the very place to come for understanding. I have spent many an hour in the middle of the night here. I hope you finally got some rest and feel better today. I know how old pain day after day gets. You are right that people don't understand. Monday, the PA that I saw before the dr. just sat and described word for word how I feel and I told her I just couldn't believe that someone actually understands. I will be thinking of you today. Blessings. Possi

HI Sharon,
I completely understand, few weeks ago I had the most horrible week since I have AS, I couldn’t sleep for a whole week. Pain was really bad; I went to bed and woke up every half an hour.............. At the end of the week I was really mad and sad because I couldn’t help myself, and the rest of the people (friends and family) can not even imagine how bad it hurts. I was taking hot but really hot showers during the night to ease the pain at least for a few moments. The week is gone; I sleep now a bit more during the night, by taking lot of meds before going to bed. I know it is not a solution but it helps.
Regards sanela

Somehow pain in the night always seems far, far worse than pain in the day - know how you feel sending best wishes

Sharon, I'm glad to hear things are easing somewhat. It's such a horrible loop to be in - in pain, get depressed, can't sleep, more pain, more low spirits, less sleep. We've all been there at some point or other and this was the perfect place to bring it.
I hope things continue to improve for you.
Hugs,
Kat
