If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

My lower back has had bulging disc for years but I cant sleep at nite anymore even with vicodin 7.5 and generic soma. I am sceduled for mylogram wednesday but when they sent me a letter from docs office it was pretty scary. Talk of possible hallucinations and seisures. Hope someone can answer this. Kinda leary. Connie,
Sorry, I haven't had to have one.
I just wanted you to know I am sorry you are doing well right now.
Hopefully someone here has had one and can ease your fears a bit.

hi connie! long time no posts!!! good to hear from you..i will post more later...had an abcsessed tooth removed yesterday..and was out of it all day and off night...half awake..just got up for some water right now...i had one..saved ME personally..it was what found where EXACTLY my pain was coming from..they use dye & in i dont know the termonology..but they have a better "feel" because they have the monitor and you will feel some discomfort. as in where the main is EXACTLY how they can locate where the problem is or isnt. i know it doesnt make sense..half asleep, i am blubbering. gonna go lay down..but feel free to pm me if not, i will post more tomorrow, i'll be more awake then!! it was not fun..BUT it helped more than the xray, mri, ct scan, discogram. this was very very precise & they only use it in serious situations. i had nerve damage. couldnt & still cant wiggle left toes freely.lol. i didnt have any hallucinations or sezuries. it was more discomfort, but i had great great nurses that helped me through it... will post later, but it was regular effects, woozy afterwards & lots of sleep. rest afterwards as the area is very very sore afterwards from the prodding. perhaps it was just worst case scenerios that they had to mention as what could happen.. believe me i usually am the one that has it happen but it was more getting lots of rest..because its tender..what area are they going to check if you dont mind me asking? anyhow..i do sincerely wish you good luck. yep..soma wont cut it on a bulging disc. i hope this makes sense. got to go rest...novacaine shots were strong...as usual..i was odd case...too much muscle for a young lady my age dentist said he had ever seen..yea, .sure i have AS remember i am odd already lol?? 4 big shots still nothing!! LOL.nothing is new. he was going to send me to a surgeon, but i said..umm..no ...lets try!!it worked...thank GOD !! sorry if i dont make sense..its been a painful long week & dont mean 2 side track from the seriousness of your pain. lots of good wishes my friend..good to see u post but wish it were painfree post! nite!!

Oh I'm so glad Buggie it's over! Wow you sounded like me with what it takes to dull your senses. Funny senses are dulled on their own enough. hehe. I take extra novacaine and I had to go to ER once and needed a procedure, so they gave me laughing gas. It didn't work so all the nurses were sniffing it to see what was wrong with the thing. They were all giggling and feeling something, but not me.What a riot. Remember next time you need anything done to tell them you need more than most maybe. As to the mylogram, don't talk to anybody before you have this. I kid you not. I had been schedualed for one and talked to a friend the day before, a very big man, and he scared the tar out of me. Told me he'd never do it again and how painful it was ect. ect. Well guess you know I didn't show up for it, made the Doc. really mad at me. So later had to get it done and you know it was a piece of cake as they doped me up first so much I couldn't stand. Didn't care what they did. Kept me in the hospital to the next afternoon. You have something to say as to what they do and what you want them to do. Big people they say have more trouble with finding the spot. I don't think I believe that but just ask them to give you some wiggle juice of some sort and you'll be fine.

Buggie, sometimes when a tooth is AS infected as yours was it can be VERY difficult to freeze. You may have a strong musculature in your jaw, but I know your tooth was in a bad way. When we encounter patients that badly infected, we give antibiotics like you got, wait a few days, for the AB's to kick in, then extract it. Sound like you went through all the right steps, but some folks are still difficult to freeze with severe infections. Sorry you had to go through all that, but the good news is, you can heal now... Healing and peace hugs to buggie and Connie
Blessings, Sigrid

Hi Buggie! Boy your right it has been long time. My computer crashed over year ago and really kinda lost my addiction for it so maybe that was good. So sorry to hear about your tooth but at least maybe your on your way to recovery. Nothing worse than tooth pain. Thanks for good news on mylogram. You know I had one years ago but must have been the era were the didnt tell you the truth about cause I certainly dont remember these scary possibilities. HaHa!! I hate to sound stupid but I forget how you pm people otherwise I was going to so that. I guess I should have gotten up on my puter sooner haha. Take good care and good talking to you again I have missed this place. By the way how is kids I bet they are growing so fast. Connie

I had a mylogram done in the early 80's and it was not too bad of an ordeal. When it is over they have you lay at a 15 or so degree angle as you could get some pretty bad headaches if you dont. Other than that it was a simple thing to go through, at least it was for me. Just like any procedure you have done there are risks, the same goes for this one.

hi kewanee... still sore but much better..just sore raw nerve pain...but the worst is over!! sorry to butt in your post connie..my apologies!! but yes!! i had the gas when i was a teen..that's why i was TRAUMATIZED to begin with dentists to begin with!! i felt all of it..but i was only 13 or so and too scared to speak or move!! needless to say the TMJ grinding tore up my teeth..and although i brush my teeth often..i have bad teeth...now i am finding out the hard way..stocked up on all the good stuff to get me on track better. i go for a cleaning next and then 4 fillings. hopefully next year veneers for my 2 front teeth. the neurosurgeon my neuro sent me to didnt offer an option. i wasnt scared going in as i thought no big deal..but i dont know if it makes a difference..but they thought it was a bulging disc..but not right with all the nerve pain and damage..sure enough i had a herniated disc... . but then again my lumbar has spondylosis, and scoliosis so perhaps that and a bit of fusing had a lot to do with it. glad they knocked you out!! i would have preferred that !!! thanks for the tip!!

hi sigrid! yes..my dentist was surprised that the penicillin didnt work..he said it usually starts clearing it up. my 4 1/2 yr old had an abscess two yrs ago from a cavity from drinking juice too much..and hers was on her gum..the antibiotics cleared it up within a few days and had her surgery pretty quickly. but it's wierd that way. yrs ago when i met art..i'd get a cold..he'd get me vicks 44 and it would work great for the first 2-3 does, then it would no longer work..all the meds do that to me for some reason. i'm just glad it was out in one piece! my good friend told me today her dentist took it out one piece then wanted her to come back the next week to take out the other two pieces!! YIKES!! she said no way!! pain or no pain..get it out!! so that made me FEEL better immediately!! yep good news is i am healing!! nerve pain i can deal with compared to the misery of that and limited jaw movement..my jaw can still barely open. but i AM eating! LOL!! heres to a happier bug!
