Hi All,
I haven't been on for quite a while. I hope all is as well as can be with everyone. I have been on Imuran one month now for Reiters. Just wondering if anyone has tried this drug and your experiences with it? I haven't had any benefit from it yet but lots of nausea and mouth blisters. Fun Fun
Thanks lots
Julie

Sorry,

I haven't tried it, but if you stay nauseated and have mouth sores you might ought to be on something else.

Have you let your Dr. know what is happening?

Are you on prescription strength folic acid? All these DMARDS - - I'm trusting my memory here, always a bit dicey, that this is also a DMARD, an immune suppressant - - tend to cause mouth ulcers, which folic acid helps to prevent. How long did they tell you it would be before it works? Or before you know whether it will work?

I've been on Enbrel almost a month now, happily there have been no side effects except for a bit of tiredness. Even managed to stick the needle into my leg without fainting, getting kinda good at it I am taking folic acid and B-12 supplements.

I take 6-mp(50mg a day) that is the same as Imuran. The liver changes Imuran into 6-mp. I have been told by many peeps that Imuran gives them these sores. They then switched to 6-mp and like me have very good results. These drugs are given accroding to body weight. I have been on 6-mp for 1 year and get my blood work done every two months. Doc said every 4 months was enough but my neighbor is an oncologist and he does it for me every two you want to stay ontop of any liver issues.
I started taking it for Crohns but really have seen a change in my AS too,all for the better.

I have been taking 150 mg. Imuran daily for over 5 years. It holds my Uveitis at bay. I don't think it helps my back but it does wonders for my eyes. I have no problems with the drug itself. I hope it helps you.

Hi all
Thanks for the replies. It helps to hear how others have done on the drug. I do take folic acid regularly. I'll hang in and wait for the positive changes to happen!
Thanks again
Rene
