hi everyone,
started enbrel. i took my 2nd shot today. i dont know. i guess the time of year. i am in a full throttle pain. i took my enbrel today, plus i had to take lortabs and soma, and the zoloft for the burning pain down my arm. i am a bug of limited intake of meds. soma is usually it. lortab on the nightmare days. but it is unbelievable. for some reason i cannot get enough sleep. i am going to bed at 9 pm wake up at 730 to take my kiddo to school. make breakfast and another nap. and i am still fighting to drag myself out of bed. i usually crab walk but still get up.

my toes are locked up and i was having the slow wierd burning feeling down my arm and elbow. felt like a drop of hot water slowly going down my arm. hard to describe. then shoulder spasms as well. those are NEW to me. not fun when it jolts you as you are walking along minding your business.

we had hail over here monday!! nightmare. 2 1-2" big and i have pics of it looking like a blanket of snow. it only happened on MY side of SA. lol. hit my poor SUV expedition. killed a couple of little birds, tore up the plants. the grass looked like it had been mowed because there was grass all over the sidewalks, patio, everywhere down the street. we literally had folks stopping to ask if it had snowed i kid you not. so i have had to go take for insurance estimates whilst in the midst of this flare..no fun.

i dont know if i should just ride it out or if i should be worried. my ribs are on fire. art used theragesic max and it didnt do a darn thing. it usually works in least for a couple of hours of warmth.

thanks for listening. sorry i have not been posting. i am glad to be on enbrel, but the timing right now is unreal.

nite everyone...

Hi Buggie

Just wanted to send you a hug as you seem to be up against it all right now, you hang on in there, and know I'm thinking of you and I really hope things settle down really soon!

And sure you've got that cute wee coyboy guy to make you heart flip, him and wee dimples!

All the very best

Laura x

Hi Buggie,

Sure sounds rough there. Sending out some cyber ((((hugs)))) to get you by.

Hang in there. I wasn't sure what would happen with me taking the Enbrel when in constant flare. Thought it might take longer to kick in but wahlah, two weeks into it and the results were dramatic. Pain levels dropping from 7-8 down to 3-4 which any of us could do on a bad day. Still early in the game to know for sure but I'm hoping.

Just knowing that relief is on it's way will help get you through. Hopefully sooner than later.

Did you see Evelyns post in biologics on drinking lots of water?

You can do it,
Klem

thanks laura...
this morning is much better. i think i was so exhausted and frustrated from all the pain thats why i was rambling last night. the wee guy is quite a ham these days. he's learned that when i ask him for a kiss, he bends his little head over to me so i can kiss his forehead.

thanks for the hugs much needed...

Thanks Klem!
It just seemed so much last night. I feel a bit better this morning, which a bit is always better than nothing for me. I didnt read that post. I always enjoy the info Evelyn provides so I will be sure to go read it right now.

I'm willing to give the Enbrel time. I just wish my thoracic would give me a break. Rheumy told me it can take up to 3 months to feel the effects. I'm just relieved I started on it. It's this flare that could take a hike right about now...

Take care and thanks!

Ive taken five shots of enbrel so far, And so far its unreal. I woke up one day and I wasnt stiff getting out of bed. I was like whoa... It was weird. I no longer have to take indocin, and my flexability is starting to improve slowly but surley. I hope it works for you, as good as it has for me.
Wish you the best!
