If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I just wondered if anyone suffers from terrible pain when sitting? Like you are sitting on your butt bones if you know what I mean. It is really painful (even though I have plenty of fat in that area!) Hope you don't think this is a stupid question. Thanks Sharon

YES! I have suffered that hideous problem for a very long time. It eventually calmed down when I changed my NSAID to Celebrex, but Celebrex has other dark clouds hanging over it, so just this evening I have come off it for good in favour of better blood pressure. Maybe the time has come for me to flirt with that hideous form of discomfort once more but I certainly hope not! If you want to give it a name it might be "ischeal bursitis" (due to AS) but I have another name for it that I can't print here! Yes---I just tell people "my butt is broken" usually good for a laugh. I told one of my old drs (a quack) about it, he said oh, your sit-bones hurt? I said yes. He said go to yoga. Later, I found out that is one of the sx of AS, from my current dr. I guess we all can agree it is a total P.I.A.

I have had this problem since about 1980.I guess it is part of having AS. My low back, shoulders and neck are far worse problems though in regards to pain.I can't take Celebrex or any other NSAIDS now as they got to my kidneys after years of use.Narcotics are my only relief.Hope I did not depress you! I too suffer from this - as a student I do a lot of sitting, lectures, studying, plus I work in a call centre! So I know how you feel, just try not to sit for long periods even of you haven't got any pain right then.... you'll get it later.

Hi! Yes, my bottom hurts when I sit anywhere very hard for more than 20 or 30 minutes. I'm a student, so I sit often. I've learned to bring a little pillow or wear a fluffy jacket then sit on it during class. That always helps. I didn't know if it was AS or because I'm thin. Guess AS strikes again!

I go college 1 afternoon a week and the chairs r awful its excrutiating (tried sitting on my nice soft coat but wasnt that much help). I know some of u do a lot more study than me mine is only part-time, i dont know how u manage it! take care heather

Definitely an issue when I sit for long periods of time (more than 15-20 minutes at a stretch). I usually get up often and walk around to avoid any problems. However, we went to a stage play just yesterday that lasted 90 minutes. At about the 1 hr 15 minute mark I was extremely uncomfortable and couldn't wait for the show to end.
Although I don't wish this type of pain on anyone, it's sort of nice to hear I'm not the only one with this problem. I'm also thin which is what my wife attributes the problem to.
