If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hello :) I'm new at this forum. Stumbled on it while surfing the net. I am from South-Africa and I am bedridden the last 5 years. I have AS in a very bad form and I broke my back 5 yrs ago. My whole story and pictures is on my web site. I started to read trough all the post. Highly interesting community you have here :) I'll visited this board a lot now. Hello :)
Thank you all for your kind and most welcome greetings. I really feel at home already. Yes, were we live it's a bit difficult to get medical attention. South-Africa has the best training for medici in the world. Even our nurses are highly recommended everywhere. Some of our senior sisters (my mom in law was one) studied longer that certain countries doctors have. But nowadays they go and work in other countries, cause the pay is much better. Thus leaving South-Africans with only a skeleton team. Ppl like me, staying in rural areas suffers the most.
But by the Grace of God, I can still have a life with dear friends and family that loves and supports me.
Thank you all for your visit to my web site and the welcome party :)

Wynand, Welcome to KickAS. You really remind me of my own country India, where the pick of the lot seek fortune abroad, but we still have more than a skeleton left here. Still, we do have some of the best facilities available here, but few can avail of it due to geographical and monetary constraints. I read your story, and you are really a brave and a role model for a would be kickaser. Keeping kicking.... Ram It is everything that we know and know not. Your all most kind. :) I believe most ppl in my postition would've done the same. I became the class joker and the "Happy man" on years of age when i got AS. Not long ago I realized why. Not only is happiness and positive attitude good for us, but I think I did it to get the attention of my illness.
I was only diagnosed on 16, a full 6 years after I got AS, and that time I was'nt sure of anything. Postive thoughts and a bubbling personality kept me going.
Isn't it strange that so many, nearly all disabled persons have such a happy attitude? I saw this over the years. Ppl in pain and that's in really "bad" shape. Adults and children alike. That taught me a great lesson in life.
