Hi everybody. I was diagnosed w/ AS a couple of years ago, and since then, I've been battling back and forth with various symptoms, mainly keeping it all at bay with rest, NSAIDs, predisone, and a low starch diet. I've got a new symptom - painful, swollen lymph nodes in my armpit and jaw. Anyone else getting this when they have an outbreak?

Hi,
Lymph node swelling can result from infection, inflammation, injury and in rare cases a tumour. It can also result from the body's response to an infection. It is relatively common in a flare especially in people who develop flu like symptoms.(I have had it one or two times) If it resolves on its own and is not too frequent , generally it is nothing to worry about.

i'd go see the Dr, ensure no infection get your bloods checked as well, preddy can pull the immune system down and some flares can do your lymphs as well......but do n't mess with a possible infection when you are on preddy......please

Yes I know what you mean....

Have had alot of lumps @ diffierent stages~all pooh pahhed according to Dr's I saw at the time....

Doozie's in the armpits! Neck as well. The other weird armpit thing though is Raining Armpits-Gush Gush - need pads for armpits!
