You're absolutely right. Deaf Canadians do say 'eh' though.

I think it was a couple of Canadians (the McKenzie brothers) who started saying 'eh' all the time as part of their act. Stuff like "have another beer eh?" and it caught on fast. Not in western Canada though. It's just those Eastern Canadians who speak that way now. Phone Kat or Mig or Cheerful and you'll 'hear' what I mean. Some of them can even say 'eh' en francais.

I just wonder what the two John's are going to do for the next four years now that they have retired from the senate. I know Kerry will really has it rough since his wife only has 750 million dollars. I guess Edwards will be coming home here an open him another law practice if his wife will give him some money. I'm looking for him to run again in 2008, but am thinking it will be more in the line of the Governor's seat.

Kerry did not give up his Senate seat.He still has 4 yrs left on this term.
Edwards was going home to practice law again anyway because it was highly unlikely he was going to get re-elected to the Senate. I am just glad Dascle is gone. He is the main one that caused so many problems and then tried to blame Pres Bush for alienating everyone.

Yeah, I know why.

You eastern kids thought that the alphabet was; eh, b, c, d, e, f, g, etc.

Wouldn't it be great eh, if we could get all these Americans, Aussies and Brits to start saying eh?

Hmmmmm, maybe not!

Interesting, I must have caught a news blooper today when they said both were retired. I knew Edwards didn't have a chance after the bill he helped introduce on tobacco. He only lives about 30 miles from where I do. Edwards' wife is another one of those rich by family money, but I figured he would come back to practice law until he finds a state seat he wants to run for.

As a poster below (I forget who) has said, there may be a lady US President in 2008. We did have a lady Prime Minister of Canada several years ago but she didn't last long and was defeated after a few short months. Too bad.

I believe that there would be more chance of world peace if there were more female heads of state in the world. It was my mother who taught me how to get along with other people.
