Hi Laura,
Hope you are well and happy. I can't help you with the eye pain explanation other than saying that I get sudden sharp pain in my eye/eyes, even wakes me at night. Other than this I dont think I have other symptoms so I have not seen anyone regarding my eyes.
Take care,
Debra

Dorrit will have to drive for a few days anyway. I fell a couple of days ago when we came home from shopping. I didn't wipe the rain of my heels on the shoes I was wearing and when I went into the kitchen with wet shoes, I went flying.

I ended up falling on my side with my left hand spread open and hitting the floor first. It bent my fingers way back and they swelled up so that I couldn't bend them. Swelling has come down but sure have some sore points in my shoulders and hips.

A heck of a time for it to happen as I had an appointment the next day for an MRI scan at Van General.

But still, if you need a ride to get more eye tests and there is nobody at home available to take you, just call. We are usually here.....

Good Grief George!! Are you trying to fly or what!
I'm so glad to hear that you didn't break anything!
Thanks for the offers for the rides though. I don't need to go to the eye doc anymore. He said not to come back for two years, unless I have a problem.
Are you doing the traditional turkey for Thanksgiving? We get to enjoy two seperate dinners over the weekend, and I don't have to cook either one of them! Unfortunately Denis will miss one of them as he has to work, but I'll nab a plate for him!
You take it easy there young man, and I hope your test results went well???

Hi,

I just wanted to add that I have pains in my iritis eye, even when it's not active. The docs said it was common but they don't know why. As long as there is no inflammation there is no real problem – just one of those mystery things with inflammatory eye disease. But I would get a second opinion rather than rely on one verdict if you are unsure or worried. Why take a chance?

Also, as a long term iritie (made that up, but it sounds endearing doesn't it?) I've found I'm more likely to notice floaters, eye pain etc because I'm more anxious about it. I've also had blepharitis, inflammation in the eyelids from an infection, and that can cause a similar redness burning that I notice in the early stages of a flare up. In fact I only found out I had blepharitis because I turned up at the eye casualty unit convinced I was having a flare up only to be told it was fine and I had something else.

There are a million and one reasons why your eye(s) might hurt that have nothing to do with iritis but you should always get it checked out and get a second opinion if you're still worried. So far as the flashes go - if you're stressed, tense, eating more comfort food than normal, doing more driving than usual, sitting in front of the computer more than usual, you could be having a migraine. You don't have to have a headache with a migraine - it can just be visual, ie flashes across the "picture" of your vision, grey areas as if a hole has been cut out of the picture, or just flashes, like a shimmer at the edge of your vision. These would last about 20 - 30 minutes and you'd probably take a while to notice them, just get a sense of something being wrong. It could just stop - have a chat with your GP.

Anyways, hope it gets better soon.
Take care

Wow, Sowg! Sounds like you know a lot about eye irregularities...first hand!
Thanks for all the info, but I'm not really worried, just wondering. No flashes, or vision irregularities, so I'm not alarmed, but am definately keeping an "eye" on it!
Thanks fro responding to my reply!
Laura
