If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Well its raining like mad here but I am trying to look on the brighter side or should I say lighter side this morning. I turned my twisted mind to thinking about the nature of this lovely disease and came up with a list of some good things about it.
Good things about having AS
1. You never have to help your brother-in-law move his piano.
2. Priority parking at WalMart.
3. First pick of any seat in the house.
4. You always spot dropped change on the sidewalk - although you may need to get someone else to pick it up for you.
5. You can entertain yourself by making up all kinds of neat stories in reponse to "what happened to you?"
6. Ready made excuse for being short with your spouse/kids/mother-in-law
7.You get to hear all about your friends' sore fingers/toes/knees.
8. You can get your employer to buy you an offcie chair that looks like it came from the set of Star Trek - The Next Generation.
9. Ability to hog the TV remote - just yelp in pain whenever anyone tries to wrestle it from you.
10. You need to avoid starchy food like your Aunt Selma's Christmas fruit cake.
Please add your favourite.
Rick

You get to join kickas. If you happen to be outrageously lucky then just maybe through kickas you might discover you have a true soul mate out there - one who laughs with you and dreams with you and thinks just the way you do. Maybe it'll also turn out that they adore you. Maybe, if it really is the immeasurable power of true love, you'll turn your entire world on it's head just to have a chance at living your life with them. Always. "Funny old world ain't it?" Rick - you really have to remove item 7 from your list. There's nothing good about that one buddy! Loz " Think like a wise man but communicate in the language of the people." Said straight from the mouth of a man in true love..........thats so cute! Your right Loz this place is pretty special and the people in it make it just that. My fav thing about A.S I'd have to say one of my favourite things about A.S is that whenever I ache my hubby will massage me for hours guaranteed. It is so nice being lovingly massaged when in pain by someone whom truly cares about you and wishes to take away the pain with their hands. Hi Rick, This sounds like a Friday afternoon Stevec post.... hope he comes along to add a few. I will throw a couple out there.... 1. Kickas parties 2. Can sound rather intelligent throwing around big words like anklyosing, rheumatologist and spondylitis 3. Can create some interesting pick up lines when meeting members of the opposite sex - not sure I should post any of those running through my mind at the moment 4. Did I say Kickas parties! Hope is only a post away with KickAS.
AS may win some battles, but I will win the war.
KONK - Keep ON Kicking

When I first came across this site it scared me beyond belief - can't believe one of my first posts was along the lines of "ppl don't get fused anymore" - such did I know from the medical establishment...hmmmmmmm.... Dx shifted quite a bit, from AS to seronegative arthritis to spondylarthropathy, which *coincided* with the NSD and my personal control over it - when I first got diet-related my Rheumy thought it must have "burnt out" (because I'm a woman, right?!) but then when I actually *admitted* the NSD to him on my last visit (knew he was cynical) he said my bloods showed a spondylarthropathy process and I would need monitoring at least annually. Seems like he couldn't quite explain the transition from the AS Dx: i.e. pain level 5 MINIMUM (do I ever mean MINIMUM), meds list = Sulpha, Naproxen, Co-Codamol -- to the medless-free, pain level 2 MAXIMUM (and do I EVER mean MAXIMUM ) that got rescheduled to spondylarthropathy. What came first - the chicken or the egg? Or was it *just* (cough) the NSD???? Hmmmmm........... Anyway, regardless of that little puzzle, getting sick whilst initially devastating basically released me from a non-supporting relationship and redefined my boundaries for the next one (if there will ever be a next!) and though diet (NSD) and exercise (Pilates) has made me a much stronger, healthier individual that probably wouldn't have happened if my life had not made this a stopping off point... For that, I will ALWAYS be thankful...I know I am much healthier now Take care, Jan Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea

Hi Janet I loved your excuse, but that backfired on me many years ago when I told my partner that I thought sex reduced some of the pain temporairly.(LOL) He was always ready and willing to relieve my suffering.
