Hi Howard

For me there is a definate connection. With Iritis, I get floaters. They are pretty freaky huh ?
I don't know if there are other reasons for them. Do you have an opthamologist ? Probably wise to get a refferal if you don't. Get it checked out because I don't think they should be there in healthy eyes.

Thanks for the reply Howard

This is exactly what the doc was saying today. He says that each bout of Iritis will actually burn out by itself. This can take a long time though and if left untreated will cause damage each time and eventually lead to blindness.

Having blurred vision is tough, I can't imagine blindness - how devastating.!!!!!!

Thanks Kev

Hey Maggie dear!

Glad your cartwheel days are over and the doc was smart enough to give you the green light on self treating when they are not readily available to see you! Iritis loves making holidays, long weekends, and middle of the night appearances doesn't it!

Really sorry to hear you've been attacked again so soon. Not a good sign at all.

My last attack (after that flu shot in late Nov) is still ongoing in both eyes. I am really ready for a little break, but they've told me not to expect one anytime soon. Rats. I've never heard them say anything about each attack burning itself out? And I gotta say I have my doubts about that. I sure hope you can get out of this repeat attack mode and avoid the chronic mode altogether. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Hugs,

mig

Hi Maggie,

I guess I'm a member of you Holiday Iritis club as well...my last attack was on Christmas Eve, just as I was leaving to join the family. I was VERY lucky to find a doctor...who treated only me because I said I had AS.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Pete

So, Maggie, I guess you could say you have Easteritis?? Thank goodness for chocolate on this particular festive occasion.

I am really sorry to hear that you've been hit again, but glad that the doc is thinking about the future for you (but equally sorry that he has to).

Hmmmm. Sens. Leafs. Sens. Leafs. LEAFS!!!! What is it, two games to one now? Or did I miss a game.

Many hugs,

Kat

Hi Mig

It was an intern who told me about the burning out thing - not sure what to think either but I certainly won't be waiting for that to happen anyway.
How on earth do you stand this in both eyes ?
Iritis allways affects my vision and then the dilating drops really blurr everything. Two eyes at one time would render me pretty useless I think.

I feel so bad for you having it for this long and I fear that I may be heading in to a more chronic situation myself. Hopefully not.

Thanks Mig

Hi Pete

Nice to hear from you.
I was at the hospital on Christmas eve too. How on earth does this happen to us ?

Well - next time, I'll be ready
