Hi Jill,
I'm glad that your rheumy listened. Just to let you know, I had an Xray of my SI joint and back and nothing showed up. I then had a bone scan which led to my diagnosis.
So if the Xray doesn't show anything maybe ask for a bone scan.

I know I'm echoing Sal but especially with women there often are no radiological changes for a long time, no matter what degree of pain we're in. The bone scan is how they nailed down the DX for me. At least your rheumy is now listening to you, so perhaps if the x-ray shows nothing and the blood test shows negative, you could suggest this further test be done.
