Just having a read through here, and I wonder if anyone found out whether we can donate our organs or not... I've always felt strongly about this, and carried an 'organ donor' card since I was 12. I know it's a little morbid, but I want to 'help someone after my death'.
It seems to me that if they don't want the blood, they won't want the organs...

The other thing that occurs to me is, whenever they take more than a couple of - bottles? vials? whatever they use - of blood then I tend to pass out. This is a little embarrassing, and nothing at all to do with fear. I'm quite happy to watch the whole blood taking procedure - but it seems if they take more than a little bit, I go light headed, and then it's BAM goodnight.

This had only happened once before, when I was younger, and I recall a few years ago getting a bit light headed - but at the blood testing place after my rheumatologist examination last Tuesday, I conked out altogether. It was very embarrassing - I came round not knowing who I was, where I was, and I had two nurses holding me down because I was, well I don't know what I was doing. Apparently I'd been out for a couple of minutes though.

Sorry for two questions in one post again. I shall have to try to be more concise and less off topic...

* Can people with AS donate organs?
* Is passing out after having more than one vial of blood taken normal?
