I had tried ACV without any results many years ago... Ted (LaMonty) had posted a lot of success with it and he was also able to eat some forms of rice.

Yes I tried it years ago. Probably was Ted that got me into it. ACV seemed to take the edge off the pain for a bit, but more noticeably was that it reduced fatigue very nicely. I took so much that the stimulant effect started to make me grind my teeth a bit .. No problem, I just had to reduce my intake.

I think this issue and also I started to focus more on my diet and just forgot about ACV for many years, until I found the EarthClinic.com website. People find ACV helps for a huge range of things. I suspect it is antifungal / antimicrobial (pH).. Also I think it stimulates the liver and helps that way too.

@parnassian - yes. I just started last week with ACV and it caused a flare but after one week I noticed a significant improvement. I continue to experiment with ACV + low cab + zero dairy diet and so far so good.

My question to the rest is have you been getting tested for ESR levels to confirm that the inflammation has been decreasing? My concern is that the diets are helping by masking the symptoms while the diseases continually progresses. Thoughts?

I have had a low starch diet since 3 months ago. its results were very considerable for me and It was a very successful experience . My only starch source is a baguette (15 cm length and consisted of whole grain) with every meal. I don't eat sugar and very fried foods and salt too. I eat a little apple vinegar with grape syrup in every meal too. I eat all kind of dairies especially probiotic ones except cream and butter. I eat white and red meat and fish, egg and vegetables except starchy ones. I try to eat much more salads than before. this diet was satisfactory for me and now I am sure it's the only way for my cure after many years. but I am in doubt if I can reduce some of limitations? for the first step I want to remove probiotic dairies and replace it with usual dairies. I appreciate you if guide me for other steps.

I have been on ACV 4 tablespoons/ day before meals and it has significantly reduced pain levels and given an extra boost in energy.

One of the annoying side effects was that it made bowel movements more loose. By eating alot of sauerkraut (high in probiotics) also before meals it seems to have balanced things out.

Greetings All

Just some food for thought..... I had a major flare today and was having pain killers all day with no success.....

Then I remembered the Apple cider vinegar lying in my drawer and took 3 tea spoons with a cup of water.

The amazing thing is my Flare went down immediately then I thought if I had more ACV it will make me more better then an Hour later I had another 3 table spoons with water and again at night.

My Flare went completely down and my neck started to loosen up.... For me Apple Cider vinegar works better than pain killers.

I think the way in which it works is by alkalizing the blood.
When we have Inflammation Antibodies are formed to attack our spinal tissue and this process is acidic, when we take ACV it Neutralizes some of the effects of Inflammation.

Plus ACV has minerals which assist the joints see GOOGLE,

I would advise anyone with a serious flare to take ACV as follows: 3 table spoons + cup water 4 to 5 times a day.

Cheers, PS let me know If anyone tries this and the result

Good theory L33. And I just picked up some ACV for the first time in my life. I will keep your flare remedy in mind.

You speak of alkalizing. I listened to a YouTube talk by Dr. Richard Horowitz on Lyme Disease and he said that he tells his patients to take an anti-acid and something else when they are having a Herx reaction. He explained how the alkalizing in combination with the something else instantly eliminates the Herx.

The Herx isn't the body's reaction to the parts of the microbes that appear upon their death but instead it is the body's reaction to the cytokine storm just like in septic shock. Perhaps the inflammation in AS is sometimes triggered by cytokines.

And only about a week ago I started to get a drilling pain in my thoracic spine along with a gut ache. I found it hard to bear and did an instinctive thing of drinking water for my gut. It instantly eliminated the pain in my gut and back at the same time.

Eighteen months ago I went to a doctor about getting rid of gut infections that I tested positive for and he refused to. He looked at my chart and said that I should see a spinal surgeon about the pinched nerves in my back that were reported on an MRI. He said that those pinched nerves may be creating my IBS and opening the opportunity for infection.

In a different post I outlined the feedback nature of how our gut triggers spinal inflammation, but I also described how our spinal inflammation can create gut dysbiosis.

Similarly, I listened to a doctor that was an expert on Fibromyalgia and he said that via spinal surgery 30% of the cases of FM were resolved in which he also saw that spinal chord irritation.

The hip bone is connected to the sphenoid sinus!!!
